Further info on the Dallas trade offer to the Jets found at ganggreennation.com http://www.ganggreennation.com/2016...ed-the-jets-this-trade-would-you-have-made-it
By the sounds of this, Dallas didn't throw in their '17 first? I feel like the deferred first is a prerequisite. For me, it would be a no-go as well.
PFF is straight trash when it comes to evaluating prospects, saying we had one of the worst picks in the first round. Look at how descriptive this scout gets, then look at what PFF said about Lee [just uses a bunch of BS numbers and rankings]. Its night and day. Good link.
I've haven't read that he has play recogntion at all. I've seen him get scorched on some pass plays on other site. But maybe they can teach him up. s for taking on tacklers so others can can make the play is strange. He's already second tier. Maybe he can lose some weight and go back to his original position of safety. Kinda what the Steelers did with Carnel Lake. He is faster than both our current safeties.
Scouts get it wrong all the time. How do you not know this? This is the Jets we are talking about and their recent and ancient history of getting it wrong. Maybe you need to take a stroll down memory lane. Vlad Ducase, Mark Merrill, Blair Thomas, Reggie Rembert. Some of these were pick by GM who had great success. Dorian Boose, Ryan Yarborough 99% of every pick under the John Idzik era. David Williams, Alex Gordon, Marion Barber. Maybe you're like 10 years old and don't know much or a new fan. Bird brain really? Way to keep it gangster lol.
Now you know how we've felt reading your same old posts the last 4 days. Seriously though, that was extremely dumb.

But every single report I've read, explains how he is great at diagnosing the play and attacking the ball. Stop talking out of your ass because you don't like it. There are some concerns, but you haven't said anything that's true about him outside of being a bit undersized, but he is in no way alarmingly undersized. An NFL weight training program will keep him around the playing weight of 235 which is more than substantial with three to four 300+ pound lineman in front of him and a wrecking ball run stopper in David Harris at 250ish next to him. David Harris had hot garbage in Demario Davis next to him all season, consistently taking poor angles to the ball carrier on outside runs. Lee won't have to worry about A/B gap runs. He will primarily be responsible to runs to the C gap and outward, as well as coverage responsibilities.
I really like the idea of an ex-high school CB dropping in coverage from an ILB position. I think the Jets are going to be very nasty against the spread over the next few years and that's enough to beat 80% of the offenses out there.
Most experts and draft guru's had this Lee kid going top 15. Ohio State's defense was absolutely loaded with 1st round talent. Possibly one of the most talented defensive unit's the NCAA has seen since dating back to those old school Miami Hurricane defense's under Jimmy Johnson. There was an NFL scout heading into the draft in which stated he'd trade his entire defense for these kids coming out of Ohio State. With all that said I'm just anxious knowing that we landed at least one of those Buckeye stand outs in Lee there in the 1st round. He's also by far the most versatile of all Ohio State defenders drafted due to his athletic abilities being able to play within so many different roles.
The only thing Im concerned is injury , shazier have hand trouble on staying healthy by being on the light side.
The Shazier point is true, however the Steelers defense is focused around the 2 quick ILB's, Timmons and Shazier and they try to funnel the action to those guys on a regular basis. Shazier got hurt in a game where he made 15 tackles. That's not the pattern you're likely to see out of the Jets. They're more likely to stay with a decent-sized thumper at one of the interior LB positions.
Moot point now but the only reason I could see the Jets making the trade with the Cowboys is if they felt they could still grab Lee and Hack both in the second round.
I don't understand this idea that he is undersized. He is 20 lbs heavier than Bucannon - the guy everyone is comparing him to. Luke Kuechly 6'3" 239 lbs Lavonte David 6'1" 233 lbs CJ Mosely 6' 2" 235 lbs Darron Lee 6'1" 232 lbs
No surprise that ESPN would pick him as the number 1 to bust...even though their comments are positive..go figure. http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2016/in...aft-busts-2016-class-darron-lee-new-york-jets
