Wrong, that would be Joe Namath, a QB who won a SB for the Jets and us in the HOF, its laughable how so many highlight the 31td passes as a godly like accolade.

Maybe they need to meet Fitz at the Roscoe Dinner.

"Most successful" is a term of comparison, nothing else. You could be the richest guy in your family and still be on welfare.

So a guy will get booed because he chooses to negotiate his wages? Tell me who doesn't try to earn more. Taking something like this personally is beyond ridiculous. Your whining "thanks" is juvenile.

That would be true if you went back five decades. I did not.

I'd love to read your posts...but without paragraph breaks you sure do make it difficult.

did Fitz just say something stupid? Name just spiked on Twitter but cant find source

edit: Nevermind Jason Cole said Fitz has no intention of taking 8mil and wants 12. Blah blah, same shit.

Fitz wanting 12 mil is just ridiculous. No way should the Jets meet that price.

Problem is, the Jets need him if they want to contend. Annoying situation. Hopefully they settle and get a deal done soon.

Seems like Fitz is almost daring the Jets to start the season with Smith.

I have no problem giving him $12M with incentives.

A base of $8 plus incentives to ensure we get our money's worth.

Would anyone really have a problem if Fitz earned the full $12m?

Trust me... You don't. This guy has been getting banned on every Jets board under the sun for the last decade.

In every single post he lists at least half of the Jets roster. Doesn't understand the concept of paragraphs. Tries to push his "rap" music on us. Openly wears a Zach Thomas Dolphins jersey.

    That's just to start....

Sorry but Vinny took us to the AFC Championship game and had a WAY better season that year then Fitz, they aren't even in the same ball park.
I would also rank Kenny O's 1985 season as far better.

Fitz's stats last year in today's NFL were pedestrian.

Agreed, an incentive laden contract is the only way to go.

Well, since we are 2+ Mil over the cap already I guess we could pay him by cutting Mo, right?

I sincerely don't care one way or the other if we sign Fitz.

While it would be nice to compete for a playoff spot - I know that we aren't competing for the super bowl.

That being the case - who gives a shit?

If we start the season with Geno at the helm it won't stop me from watching and enjoying this young exciting defense.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we were actually able to 'be in the hunt' down the stretch with Geno starting. Stranger things have happened.

Those would be the ones who are too young to have ever seen him play.

Funny, I took 'in decades' to mean SINCE Joe Namath as opposed to saying Fitz was the best Jet QB 'ever'. It's been nearly five decades since Super Bowl III.

And until whatever asshole GM we have at the time realizes you don't win in the NFL without a franchise QB it may be another 50. I get it, draft another CB..that will do the trick!
