Not much activity in here tonight. I guess with the draft going on. Exciting OT game in DC. Oshie with the hat trick and game winner. Pens are a great team. Great team speed. Should be a fun but tough series.
Ovie should have put the game away early, he did not capitalize on some great opportunities. Oshie has shown why all teams need quality depth on their roster, it's not the Alex show anymore. Oshie was awesome yesterday.!! Nice job!
The Ducks have fired Bruce Boudreau. Sad to see. He is a great man and a great coach. For some reason his teams fall apart in the playoffs and his Game 7 record is tough to ignore. I wish. After last night it feels like it will be a long series.
Bye Bruce...we knew you all too well. Oshie finally coming out in the postseason. He is 1 point shy of his total playoff points in the last 4 years combined. That trade has worked out for both teams thus far
It's actually an interesting idea. Boudreau's teams have always been good, but failed by poor goalie play. Lundqvist is still a top goalie in my opinion, and yes the Rangers would need to make more moves, but he would be a good coach for them. Also, Boudreau's teams are offensive, Rangers teams usually lack offense but better at D, could be a nice meeting in the middle for both if it happened.
Home teams rolled last night with Stars and Sharks victories. Hope that continues today for the Caps. Isles-Bolts kick it off at 3:00.
Draft lottery results: 1. Toronto 2. Winterpeg 3. Columbus 4. Edmonton 5. Vancouver 6. Calgary 7. Arizona 8. Buffalo 9. Montreal 10. Colorado 11. New Jersey 12. Ottawa 13. Carolina 14. Boston
Wow, tonight sucked. Awful effort by the Caps. Holtby kept them in it and deserved a better result. His team let him down. Reminded me of watching the Rangers lose after Lundqvist would keep them in a game. Series tied 1-1. Move on to Game 3 Monday in Pittsburgh.
Orpik should be missing a couple after his hit on Maatta. Holtby is the reason this series isn't 2-0 to the Pens, but still the Caps had the better of it in the third period and can just turn it on.
Before this playoff I would have said the same for Boudreau but, damn, how do his teams keep blowing these game 7's if it's not a flaw in his preparation? AV I'd certainly take. He has made some dubious decisions but he's actually won through the playoffs. He can coach.
It really does not matter to me that he loses in game 7, the fact is that he has a winning program, to lose that many game 7s means your getting to the playoffs. If you get bumped in the first round like the blues have been up until this year, does not mean Hitchcock is a bad coach, they were losing in 6 games. It's about getting there and let the chips fall where they may, maybe the other teams had players that came up big when they needed to.
