I bet you said that when Idzik made our picks. He set the Jets back at least 3 years with 2 bad drafts. You start accumulating bad drafts you'll never win anything. There is a reason the Ravens are always competitive because they reload their roster with good drafts, doesn't have to be great just good players they can call on. It also keeps your salary cap in check and not do what the Jets did last year and over spend in free agency.

No that would be desperation and we are way past that. That 4 or 5 will be a very high pick next year because of the Jets record next year. They just have to suck it up this year.

Unless Fitz comes back going with Geno we are toast.

I never gave Idzik the benefit of the doubt that I will Mac. Idzik didn't have the extensive background in personnel evaluation that our current GM does.

We've been a team stuck in a cycle of mediocrity. We will load up on vet players through trades and FA , contend for a year or two, then when those players leave or decline, we have no depth to replace, we tank for a year or two, then repeat the cycle. If you're cool with that then carry on. Teams that enjoy perennial success and contend for championships every year do it through sound drafting.

They do it through landing a franchise QB above all else.....Pats have drafted like shit the last 10 years overall and have been the most consistent team, I wonder why that it is

We have actually been unlucky not to ever find a QB but lucky that we have had some fun and successful years without one

Jets need to draft better but we haven't been that bad overall

What's your point, that it's ok to draft bad as long as you have a hall of fame QB? Forget the pats. They were not good before Brady and we don't know if they'll be good after. I want us to be like the Packers or the Steelers.

Just keep in mind Richard Sherman was a 5th round pick so it can turn out either way, just have faith in this FO and CS since they at least have won the benefit of the doubt.

Ok then find Favre then Rodgers or Big Ben

    3 HOF QBs

We need to draft better no doubt but we need a franchise QB above all else...We built the defense and rest of the team if we had a very good QB we would be Super Bowl Contenders

I like Fitz but he's overrated. There are others who could do the same job for circa $5-7m...

Not really because otherwise they would be on someones roster by now. If there were QB's out there that can throw 32 touchdowns they would be gone. But what is hurting Fitz is his age and maybe the scheme he played under with the Jets elped him. I don't want Hoyer or Foles and not thrilled with Hackenberg.

But on that basis Fitz would also be on someone else's roster by now and isn't...nobody wants him either!

The Packers and Steelers, especially the Packers, don't have good rosters. They have Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy, Ben Roethlisberger, and Mike Tomlin. That's why they win, not because they're great drafters.
