Hey why not if they like the guy? Need more OL prospects and they'll probably get comp picks next year. Hard to complain
I hope he works out, I really do. But at best seems like a backup. Not a special player but at least it's an offensive tackle
If you want a pick this year you have to give up a better future pick. At least it's a start on fixing the OL.
Kiper said he could develop into a starter at right tackle He looked good on the highlights they showed
Even if he is just a backup, we need depth at OT. The lack of quality depth has been an issue for years and the Jets have been very lucky.
No way, he's too slow to play tackle. Westerman had tackle potential and he went three picks later. The hits keep coming. This draft is a steaming hot serving of Wtf.
This is exactly what they're trying to do with Shell. They see him as Giacomini's replacement......great value in 5th round if it works out.
I think we would have taken Nick Martin OG, if the Texans didn't trade up in front of us in the second. That move looked suspicious to me.
I think this means Giacomini is gone (they need that money to re-sign Fitz and his play really slipped last year) and they want to give Qvale (who according to beat writers the organisation likes quite a lot) competition for the RT spot.
Most likely Jason Spriggs was the target till GB moved up to get him. This draft didn't go the Jets way in terms of OL.
Still would want another tackle unless the Jets really trust Ijamini as the backup LT because Clady hasn't been durable since 2 years ago. Maybe Will Beatty strictly at RT for the Vet minimum? He stunk for the Giants on the left side but maybe you can get away with him on the right side.
