It hasn't been bad at all. Just recently they picked Pryor, Richardson, Leonard Williams, Mauldin, Powell was a good pick. Too many people just focus on Millner. And Devin Smith is still gonna end up being good. Ennuwa was picked late, how is that pick looking. They missed on Millner and probably Amaro.
I don't even think they missed on Amaro...he looked good late in his rookie year and then got hurt last season. He's got a lot to prove this season, same with Devin Smith Our defense is now loaded with young and talented players acquired mostly in recent drafts....tons of other fans would love to have our defense Regardless, teams miss on picks all the time and I think the Jets have been pretty average
would you stop pretending you know a single fucking thing abut any of these guys? You have ZERO idea who the " top players" that the Jets allegedly passed on and you have ZERO idea who tis kid is
lol let's get real about this...even good professional GM's and scouts miss on the vast majority of their picks, you really think random fans without all the scouts and info at the disposal of teams are better drafting than '95%' of GM's? Yes it's easy for Jet fans to think this cause we've had some hideous GM's that probably weren't much better than the average yahoo in the stands but come on now. And who was ripping the Sanchez pick at the time? People loved it. Sapp we know why he dropped. Fans don't give a crap about things like drug tests but owners and execs do. Plus our GM at the time (essentially Kotite) was one of the rare ones who actually wasn't any better than the yahoos on message boards.
Laughable inputs. We should have picked a solid OG, implying starter, as if we knew there was one BPA with the 4 th pick. Last year the bitch was, I'm tired of picking OL in the later rounds, blah, blah blah. Like it or not,we addressed 4 fucking positions of need for the very near future. And we don't know shit about how good or not they will be. No more and probably a lot less than what some of you would have selected. So let's stop the BS about having Idzik and disregarding the Offense in the draft. You pick what you think is BPA and move on. Had Smith not gotten hurt we would have had, albeit in a limited role three contributors last year. The Jets tried to move up for an OT but we could not reach. No ammo. Thank Idzik for squandering a shit load if picks. Mac is executing to a well though out plan, while some of your bitching Is randomly focused on any and all selections no matter which way it goes. It is unfortunate that we could not get OL help, but deviating from BPA is not the answer. We have many needs and a few precious picks.
"Todd Bowles says Burris can come in and play right away. He’s pro-ready." First time he's said this I like the pick based on this , hope he pans out
Dumbest post I've read yet. Come on dude. This hasn't even been a bad draft, last year was a good draft, this year has a lot of promise as well. How about we let them put some pads on and play a little ball before the doom and gloom statements flood in.. Idzik dude, really?
I don't know a lot about him but based on what I'm reading he's pretty meh, nothing great but he doesn't sound terrible either.
Thanks for this post, it's crazy how the fans are so extreme, the Jets got younger faster on defense in 2 drafts. Some guys want a young WR, I think Amaro is going to be good in this offense with Gailey, Devin Smith better pray that Fitz does not get re-signed because he needs a QB who can throw an accurate deep ball in order for him to be effective in this offense. The only pick I did not like was Hack at 51. Don't mind a QB selection, just not at 51, just my thoughts.
I like what I've seen so far. We've added youth and speed to our LB's - love these picks. Smith and Petty aren't good enough - so we reached for a QB. We need help at CB...got it. We got Clady in the 5th. Maybe a bit of ST help in the 7th. What's not to like?
They will have to be because they will be on the field constantly. No QB's and our offensive line is weak.
I don't mind this pick its kinda of a need. Milliner get's hurt putting his socks on, McDougle I don't know what to say about him. So our best CB after Revis is Williams and we haven't seen what he can do over a full year.
Thank You......couldn't have said it better myself. I'd like to add Rome wasn't built in a day. Mac is well aware the OL is creaky and bandaged together......the value in this draft didn't add up. For all we know he could have been targeting Spriggs and then Martin and then they were scooped up right before pick # 51. Or maybe he wanted Hackenberg all along......who knows. Meanwhile the defense is much faster and stronger than it was when Mac took over. Maybe the offensive makeover continues next offseason...but Carpenter, Powell, Hackenberg/Petty, and Smith isn't a bad beginning - although Smith needs a decent camp this year...
