They pass on all of the top players available and reach for this guy .... typical Jets. Dude can't even spell his first name right. ...it's only round 4 at least, not surprised nobody else is here to start this thread.
You gotta trust Bowles when it comes to DBs. This guy has the size to be a press corner and he luckily won't be forced to start anytime soon. Good pick, IMO.
If this pick means that I don't have to watch Dexter McDogshit lumber around on special teams then he's my DROY before the season even starts.
Hope you're right of course. ...well, that's pretty much a wrap for us guys. Gonna go out and enjoy the day now, check back tonight to see the 2 lotto tickets we added in the 7th.
Are you basing that on the Jets not taking one of Mel Kipers best available? Because I'm sure most of us have never heard of the majority of these guys so who's to say who the "top guys" are
What top players are left that will start for the jets next year? Lee and Jenkins will definitely get playing time, Hack won't, and no one they would have chosen at 118 would have either, Burris might see special teams play.
I think you mean Todd McShay. Kiper said on TV he thought he was a 6-7th round pick while McShay was gushing over him and saying it was great value. Maybe you saw him being the 43rd best player REMAINING on Kiper's list, not overall. Welcome to the NFL draft
Vidal Alexander was the best guard in the draft, with a 2nd round grade by PFW. Also, NFL.com had this to say about him, and rated him as the 9th best day 3 player overall: Vadal Alexander (94), OG, LSU: Remember Gabe Jackson, the Mississippi State lineman who went to Oakland in Round 3 a few years ago and turned into one of the best guards in the league? Alexander reminds me of him. He has slow straight-line speed but doesn't play slow. He's a strong, fundamentally sound football player. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-nfl-draft-9-players-to-target-early-on-day-3 ....also, Andrew Billings was projected to go in the 1st round and shockingly still available, one of the NFL.com guys covering the draft had him as his 17th best player overall! I know that's the last position we need, but in the 4th round Mac can afford to go BPA again (plus we lost Snacks and I'm not 100% sold on McClendon, who is kind of old btw, or Jenkins) But Vidal Alexander should have been the pick. I can't believe they passed on him!
Based on how some of you act, the Jets shouldn't waste their money on scouting department and just rely on what magazine services and Kiper mock. Why do you think team's being players in? So they can make their own evaluations. This guy is perfect for Bowles system. He's strong, he's gonna press off the line, they're evaluating based on their wants.
I haven't felt this blah over a Jets draft in awhile. Maybe that's a good thing considering our past drafts though.
Draft a longshot project QB...check Continue to neglect a decaying offensive line...check Continue to neglect adding explosive offensive players in an explosive offense WR driven league...check That's why we're the Jets
I'm pretty much the same way but I don't think they passed on that much...lots of guys I wanted were always taken before we picked I think our defense is going to be crazy good this year though
Don't have a clue who the guys is but love the descriptions I'm reading. Ultimately I have faith in the FO and depth at CB is a must so I like the pick. Time will tell.
McShay had him as a 4th rounder and said there wasn't much not to like...seems like a solid prospect with size and speed
