It feels like we're having an unlucky draft this year, with several desired players getting picked right before us. It's astounding how many defensive players we continue picking year after year. I felt better about this pick after NFL Networks coverage of it, but wasn't on board with it.
We still have Marshall and Decker and Amaro will hopefully step it up. Assuming we have health at the LT, it seems to me that the only limitation to having a top 10 offense is the Qb position.
It appears this year Mac and Bowles chose to rebuild the LB core and prepare to jettison some of Idzik's trash........I'm guessing they're trying to squeeze another year out of the OL.
I'm just imagining back when the Seahawks drafted Richard Sherman and the Panthers drafted Josh Norman theirs fans were probably clamoring how the team should of drafted other positions of need. CB is a position of importance and this kid Norris must have impressed them enough to be chosen over any of the guys u think they should have chosen. Rmbr they do this for a living, these are their jobs, they spend way more time trying to figure out the exact players this team needs than any of us.
Its getting pretty apparent looking back at 2015 and now this farce of a draft Chan Gailey will be dealt nothing but projects with hopes for some miracle' The best players are helping Bowles look good...watch every year it will be an 80/20 per cent split for defense Not buying "we clean up Idziks mess" To me its just politics
We need faith in Mac.......it's going to take more than one offseason to fix this team. Burris looks decent...
Well, plenty of time to go before the 7th round so I'm going to catch up with all the trashing in the Hackenberg thread.
To me it's just too early to tell. It's only their second draft. I agree the OL leaves a lot to be desired......for now anyway. Hackenberg is a giant gamble but there has to be a reason they took him. Somebody liked something........
Yeah, as many of you have pointed out, this certainly is another Idzik indictment. McDougle? Milliner? Geez. When they go for a TE in round 7, there'll be "No trace of Jace"
I'm not taking a stance on any player. I watch so much college football (gambling) and I won't proclaim to know much about this kid. I have have liked the first three picks (premium rounds). I really think that Hack can be a good starting QB in a couple years.
Forte, Powell, Decker, Marshall, Devin Smith, who was our second round pick last year. Hack in the second this year. Your own post is just another misinformed narrative.
I think the jury is still out on Amaro. Lots of potential and they didn't see him play last year....McDougle and Milliner are on the outs.
Why? Hackenberg has the tools he needs to sit for a year or two. The front office and scouts put months of research, interviews, and film study into the pick. I'd rather they swing and miss in the second round on what they think is a potential franchise QB then take another QB project later on........
Oh the talent we coulda had instead of those two… Going forward I think I'd rather take college players with bong hit video over players with an injury past.
Jets also picked up off the waiver wire former Pittsburgh third round pick Dri Archer. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the 53.
