I think the coaches love Qvale as a backup swing tackle As for Jordan...Mel Kiper just said he thought he was a better player than Floyd so that's nice I'm very familiar with him as an SEC fan...good solid player from a military family...Him and Mauldin will be a great team IMO
2 natural born leaders for sure. still think we need a dynamic pass rusher, but those guys will bring the chopping wood go to work mentality for sure
Like this pick a lot. Have to be excited about our young defensive core now: Richardson, Wilkerson, Williams, Mauldin, Lee, Jenkins, Pryor, Gilchrist, Williams, Skrine. If Milliner of McDougle can give us anything at all it would be the cherry on top.
Solid pick. I watch a lot of Georgia football because of where I live (and my son is a humongous fan). Jenkins is great at setting the edge. Mauldin, Lee, and Jenkins = LB is no longer a weakness, it will be a strength for years to come.
Before the draft LB was one of our most glaring needs, and we pretty much have it covered now if these guys can stay healthy and live up to their potential. Jenkins was a solid player in college who played both inside and outside, plus he was captain of the team, which is always a good sign. I'm not sold on the lotto-ticket Hackenburg pick with a 2nd round pick, but at least we got solid players in the 1st and 3rd rounds. At least we didn't pick a kicker like Tampa.
add a pass rusher to that group and we are really have added some guys that can man the position for some time. we need to start doing the same on the offensive line.
Well they restored my faith a little after the 2nd round disaster. Love Jenkins, I'm hoping he bulks up because he seemed to play a lot better bigger. A great athlete too, he really didn't fall off too much after Jarvis Jones left. I think if he had a bit more speed he'd have been a 1st rounder. Great value pick and probably a solid starter for years to come.
Great pick, who I wanted. Our line backing core is significantly younger. Defense is just about set. RT would have been nice but the board didn't fall that way. Always next round!
I think we do ... we tried trading up for Tunsil but the price was too high ... in the second the guys we targeted were gone as the domino's fell against us ... glad MM didn't just draft a lineman for the sake of drafting a lineman ... next year it will be priority # 1 !
Well I agree on Tunsil but that was A) ridiculous value that was falling and B) a cost we couldn't afford to go up anyway. But I think Hackenberg really was the guy in round two even though Houston figured we would take the center, Rappoport Tweeted that we were targeting Hackenberg for months and I believe that with how quickly they ran the card up there after Houston's pick.
