Maybe if they Browns want Mo, they can give us both their 2nd round picks this year for him. I'd be alright with it if the Jets don't plan on resigning Mo long term.
We should get what we can for mo now. He will most likely dog recovery and play 30 pounds overweight. Yet, I can see a miraculous recovery right at end of yr to boost his future paycheck.
Jets tried to trade up...http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ource=twitter.com&utm_campaign=mmehta+twitter
100 million is a stupid number to look at and meaningless though. 10 years 100 million cost less then 5 years 75 million. You should look at the price per year the Qbs are making. The ones I listed are all in the top 10 paid QBs as well as guys like brees who won a SB
Brees did NOT have that back breaking contract at the time the Saints won the SB. Nor did Wilson, and Brady has one of the best contracts for an elite QB in the history of the game. No shit you care about the price per year ... 100M was just a starting point dude. Flacco has 120.6M and his team has been awful ever since. His #s per year are insane and have held the team back. This is an irrelevant argument as the Jets have no QB to pay. My point illustrated earlier still stands.
The browns have 2 second round picks? Not according to NFL.com. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/tracker#dt-tabs:dt-by-round/dt-by-round-input:2
No it speaks to the fact that as soon as he signs the tender he is no longer a free agent. If I was Mo I'd wait until the last possible moment to sign the tender because you never know when a team is going to approach you with an offer that makes you go to the Jets and try to work out the compensation.
It's not going to happen that way. Mo is going to be looking at free agency in 2017 and knowing that the offers he gets are going to be directly related to how he shows in 2016. If he takes the year off and doesn't play like Mo Wilkerson there is no way he sees a top-end offer in 2017. He's also not that kind of person or player. One of the things he is going to be selling the hardest in 2017 is "you get what you see", a clean player with no off the field issues who performs at a high level game in and game out.
@MikeSilver Not only are Rams fielding trade offers for Nick Foles, but they'd also listen to teams interested in dealing for QB Case Keenum @nflnetwork
Random trade idea. If Fitz retires, Mo to SF for Kaep and Davis. Advantage is this can be done after the draft.
2 seconds is next year not this year. 3 3rds this year though. They got a hell of haul. Next year they got 2 1sts, 2 2nds, 2 4th and 2 2nds in 2018. They pick first tonight and its open for business. They want a 3rd next year as part of the deal so they can have 2 picks in each of the 1st 4 rounds next year. not bad at all.
Yep, and he got a taste of that at the end of last season and it did not weaken his resolve to get the most he can. It's not going to happen with the Jets so it's best to figure out a good plan B for us. Maybe just playing him this year and keeping the line strong through a potential Richardson suspension is the way to go. That has some value too with a young linebacker in the mix.
They're going to play him on the line. He's a natural 3T and he's pretty good as a 3-4 DE also. He's miscast out in space on the edge and I doubt they'll do much of that. The interesting question is how often do they try Mo on the nose this year?
