im not saying he is a bust, im saying its a bad pick for a first rounder. he can have a solid nfl career in his own role. but you need more with your first round picks. ive seen him play at OSU, ill love him, jets fans will love him. but he isnt a guy you should be taking in the first round, especially this team with so many needs and desperately needing BPA/top end talent
The only confidence you should be losing is in your own understanding and knowledge. You obviously haven't been paying attention to the Jets on the field or what Mac and Bowles have been saying. SMH
This really is a great pick for us. He obviously was the BPA at the time. I'm not a fan of Fuller. Treadwell has stone hands. No QBs worth taking at 20. No RBs left worth taking at 20. No WRs left worth taking at 20. Not overly fond of the o-linemen left at 20. Would have cried if we took a d-lineman. I think Lee is a better overall LB than Ragland and you don't take a guy who will probably be a cripple in the near future (Jack) in the first round. No DBs worth it. Really, Lee was our only option at that point.
I'm not saying you are wrong because I know nothing about this guy, but how do we know he doesn't become a 3 down starter? Maybe the Jets see him as a guy who is going to overcome his size and translate well to an NFL field. Who knows?

im not saying he isnt a good fit for what bowles likes to do.... im saying for the talent and player he shouldnt be taken in round 1. you want to give me a small speedy guy in the middle of the draft to fit that role im 100% on board. but in round 1 im not taking situational specialists just because of "fit" or need. i wanted BPA. i wanted a full time long term starter.
No one on this board knows the risk related to Jack's injury - kind of absurd for you to say the risk is manageable. There is a reason that when the Jet's passed on him they became the 20th team to pass on him.

The funny part is they're showing how freaking ignorant they are about the defense our HC runs, the team's needs, and the abilities of Lee. He's a perfect fit for this defense. They should shut up because they're just making themselves look really stupid. Someone should pin this thread, because I'll bet many of the complainers in 3 months will be claiming how much they loved the pick.
Buchanon was a safety who played a hybrid S/LB. Lee won't be able to see over anyone and is strictly a LB and maybe only 1 down LB at that. They showed clips of him getting swallowed up by lineman.
