This is getting f'n annoying now... When exactly does the nice spring weather start? Sat E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Sat Night Se winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 4 to 5 ft. Sun E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. A chance of showers. Sun Night E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. A chance of showers.
I told ya nature was conspiring to make you stay home for the draft. I sure as hell am not going out in 4-6 footers again, that was 0 fun.
Yeah... Looks like I get to finish off the old hunny do list this weekend. Oh well, not only do we have the draft, but I might just do a smoked shoulder. At least the last report from the Ms. Belmar says the blues are finally on the rampage. 6-12lb fish too. I can't do the 4-6ft swells either. Those estimates are always on the low side..
Pulled pork and the draft sounds way better than rough water and the first reports of marauding yellow eyed demons packing the boat to the rails any day. I decided my back doesn't hurt nearly enough so I'm going to rent a tiller or whatever from Home Depot this weekend and rip up my yard and plant some form of garden.
Ive had to turn down a Cobia trip 3 days in a row for work Tues day they caught 5 Today they caught a 57lber! Tomorrow......??? Friday: probably skunkfish as I finally get a chance to go
Stinky, if its not too much to ask, would you mind sending some decent FL weather up north to us? It's almost MAY and the weather has kept my ass off the water for all of April. I'm gonna miss the spring Cod run unless they hang around until late May. Accuweather has it raining here most of the month so if I'm gonna get anything done, I'll have to break out the wet gear and hope the seas stay below 4ft. Well, I do have the week after Memorial Day off so I'll just make up for it then. With a vengeance...
COASTAL WATERS FROM ST. AUGUSTINE TO FLAGLER BEACH FL OUT 20 NM- 348 AM EDT THU APR 28 2016 FRIDAY WEST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS BECOMING SOUTHEAST IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 2 FEET OR LESS. Nice. What are you putting in the ground? I'm going to do a bunch of vegetables and I also need to flower up the entire back yard because it currently looks like shit.
I'm looking at some trees actually for the front of the house. Arborvitaes most likely framing the door. Pulling weeds on the front slopes before ordering a shitload of mulch.
That sounds good. How many are you going to get? Are you doing like a walkway row or just two big ones outside? Also, since this is the fishing thread, Striper fishing apparently still blows goats.
Just the two framing the door for now. I'm thinking about perhaps a row on the back property line but those trees ain't cheap. 25 buks a pop for the little guys. I'm also thinking about some in the front just to give the deer another obstacle to go around. They use the front of my place as a freakin turnpike.
So, what you're saying is, you have a bunch of venison backstrap roasts walking around your property. I think we both know what you need to do here my friend. How many trees would you need to do the back?
Not sure.. Gonna have to get out the old tape measure... If it doesn't stop raining soon, I'm gonna tie a string on a paperclip and start practicing in my fishtank...
If you do that, you definitely have to record it and post it up haha. Garden update: didn't do a damn thing, effing diverticulitis.
Looks like either Sunday or Monday for the first trip of the year. Update: I got Monday off so its up to Wifey what we do on her day. If she doesn't want to go fishing, I can prepare a smoked eye round roast and White Zinfandel meal fit for a queen. Either way, first trip of the season happens by Monday at the latest.
Hey Cman, got a question for you. My boys are taking me to Lake Harmony fro my bachelor party in the beginning of June. What kind of fish do they have in that lake? I know its relatively small, but whats the best setup ? Any ideas?
Faze, I'm not familiar with that lake but it looks pretty typical for small freshwater lakes. If I were to guess, I'd say the usual suspects: Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, Bass... Two baits that will probably work is bloodworms and chickenlivers. Not many fish can resist those! Get yourself a medium light setup with some smallish weights .25oz or lower and perhaps even an old school floatie. I'm assuming you'll be fishing from the bank. 8lb test line and some eagle claw hooks and you'll be set up for a nice relaxing day on the lake. Let me know how it goes!
