I dont think either Floyd or Conklin will be there. But I would love either one of em. Lynch wont be either but dont want him.

Something tells me we wont be picking at 20 though. Just dont know if we'll be trading up or trading down.

Leonard Floyd is not a 10 sack a season guy at the next level. My vote goes to Noah Spence.

I think Paxton Lynch is going to fall hard in this draft. Maybe even to the second round. Connor Cook will be taken before Lynch. Also, Jets 1st round pick will be an absolute surprise. My sleeper pick is Laquon Treadwell.

i do think the jets have an agreement in place with at least 1 other team that involves wilkerson, to be executed on draft day. its not unusual for teams to prepare this way if A happens, B happens, C, etc etc.....

wouldnt be shocked that we have 2 shiny 1st rounders come 10:00 thursday nite.

I know everyone is hell bent on an OLB, but i wouldn't go near Spence, and would be very hesitant with Floyd.

Spence is this years Gregory. Head simply isn't on straight.
Low character guy, and waaaaaaaay too risky for the first round.

Floyd i just don't see as a 3 down player, as he really isn't stout enough to set the edge and play the run.
So we'd be using a first round pick to select a situational pass rusher, who didn't produce as a pass rusher in college.
How does that translate into a good choice for round 1?
can't chase potential that early in draft.

I'd go with Dodd over either of them, although value at other positions might be better.

Yeah I don't see what people love about Floyd. Sure his combine numbers are impressive but it doesn't show up on tape. Highlight reel might look good but his low-lights are what worry me. He tries to run around blocks. Pass rushing ability is all about his speed. If his blocker gets their hands on him he is done. Has upside and potential but by no means is a safe pick. And I don't think the Jets can afford to continually swing and miss with early round picks. Looks too light on film.

He put on something like 20 lbs in the off-season and still ran well (4.6) but haven't seen him play at that weight or much OLB for that matter. We know most DE turned OLB don't excel right away if at all.

I'd rather we use our 1st on an offensive tackle and in round 2 a money backer role like David LaVonte in Tampa or Bucannon in AZ.There are few guys in this draft that look the part and might be available round 2. Guys like Sua Cravens, Jeremy Cash and Miles Killebrew. Then get a 2nd OLB maybe some one bigger possibly even a DE. Basically a larger more traditional "Edge rusher" in round 3 or 4.(D.Jones, Jenkins, Kaufusi, Nassib, Fackrell, Schobert, Kwiatkoski).

If Lynch is gone then get an OT and draft Cook in the 2nd rd.

I hear you on Spence. Supposedly, he really cleaned up his act this past year, but if I'm Mac, I'd have to be thoroughly convinced that the risk was minimal before I took him in round 1. If I traded down, I might take a flyer on him in round 2, however.

I disagree regarding Floyd. He does need to put on some muscle and get stronger at the point of attack, but I believe already has. Georgia used him in a lot of different ways. That's a big reason his stats rushing the QB aren't better. He's good in coverage and has natural bend in rushing the passer, yet most of his rushes at Georgia were inside. With better technique and another move or two, he could become a much better pass rusher. He's not without risk, but he has speed and that can't be coached. There's no way I'd even consider Dodd in the 1st round. I'd take an OT, WR, or CB or Lynch before I'd take Dodd.

I had to watch a lot of tape to understand Floyd and his pro style projection. When you watch him play, watch his hands as he has awful hand technique. Apparently he's also a tweener. I look at Floyd and I don't think he excels at anything particular, he's just very versatile. I think Yannick Ngakoue or the guy from Boise State at rounds 2 or 3 would be a far better value.

I doubt Floyd ever becomes a great pass-rusher, but he will be a serviceable player that can do a lot of things at the next level, none at a mastery level. Scouts compare him to Barkevious Mingo whom I wasn't a big fan of either. I think his partner Jordan Jenkins could be a better pro.

BTW I voted for Spence, and I want to change my pick ... backtoqueens has a solid point.

Good to be honest. I think he will be a Giant @ 10. I think he's one of the more overrated prospects in this draft.

Have you ever watched him interview? He had some problems as a young college kid but he has top 15 potential easy. He also just sent 20 of his last drug tests to every team in the NFL.
