well i mean they forced rex on him.... and he catered to rex in the draft, so im not sure how true that really is. as far as woody, he signed off on a 3 year rebuild and then canned the guy 1.5 years into it. bad drafting for sure, but still a raw deal. i dont see mac sticking around if we lose and the fans turn on mac
Why would he purposely try to lose games? And on top of that you still can't judge a draft based on one year.
I don't think the fans will turn on Mac even if we have a poor year. The acquisitions of decker Marshall and fitz (hopefully again) will atleAst get him through this year and into next
JaMarcus Russell j/k but apparently he will play for free (vet minimum) http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15384038/jamarcus-russell-says-play-free-just-wants-another-chance
idzic signed decker. if fitz doesn't come back and we suck, isn't that on mac? if fitz comes back and we suck because fitz regressed to the mean, you don't think the billboard posse won't start passing around the collection buckets? i can definitely see mac becoming a victim of early success.
I'm really starting to belive this Fitz thing is a smokescreen for the draft.....It doesn't make sense at this point.Especially when you look at the fact that Fitz hasn't visted anyone else.
What early success?Missing the playoffs isn't early success .I know we went 10-6 and that was all good and great but it won't mean anything if we don't go atleast 11-5 this year.
The full episode of Gruden's QB camp with our future at the position: What a bright young kid. I'm completely convinced that Petty already is a better player than Geno Smith ever will be. And if Fitzpatrick wants a dollar above 8 millions, I'm rooting even harder for going into the season with Petty as the starter. Petty is better or just as good as any QB in the current draft. Actually I think only C. Wentz is a better talent than Petty. Ideal scenario: Let him learm another year behind Fitzpatrick (2 years @ 8 million per) and let him compete with an rookie out of 2016 or 2017 for the starting job after that.
At this point I will probably be pissed if we do sign Fitz. We aren't winning many games anyway so waste money again. We had a chance to draft a QB, obviously Denver and Elway who knows a little about QBs thought he was worth trading up to take but instead we take an undersized project.
Yea well, Denver and Elway also signed Mark Sanchez who will likely be their starter. so there's that
Its starting to look like it will be cook or hack and we will roll with geno being a vet. Should be an interesting year
Damn I just love how quick his release is. He's just a natural thrower of the football with a power arm. _
Exactly! It looks so natural to him! Arm-talent wise he is the best QB since A. Luck in 2012. Obviously there are other aspects in his game, which need work - a lot of work - but I'm completely confident he gets it done. Arm-talent, size, leadership and intangibles - everything is up to the top. He is a smart (Wonderlic score: 31), humble and bright kid also - you can see this from the first moment in the video above. You wish he was a little bit younger (25 on 31st May), but age is not a big problem with QBs. If only Baylor would't run such a pure spread offense with coaches doing the presnap reads, he would be our starting QB by now, without a doubt. I'm a litte nervous about the reports of our FO seemingly falling in love with Christian Hackenberg for round 2 (had a pre-draft visit also). Don't get me wrong: He may be one of the better QBs in the draft (and I like him more than e. g. Paxton Lynch), but I'm so keen to see B. Petty winning the starting QB, that I just don't want a another QB before round 3/4.
Yeah, he's so humble and looks like he's coachable. How many times did he say "Yes Sir" and "No Sir" to Gruden. I'm really down on Hack--I don't want anyone taking snaps away from Petty. _
