We're not keeping 4 Qbs on the roster. If we draft one, Geno is our starter next year.

I've seen some possible trade scenarios with us trading Mo to Chicago for 15. If that happens do you take Lynch at 15 and fill another need at 20? Or vice versa - pick the higher rated player at 15 and wait and see if Lynch is there at 20.

I guess I am asking for people saying no t Lynch at 20, does that change your mind if he is the second 1st rounder we end up having based on a potential Mo trade?

Not necessarily. I could see them still resigning Fitz ad trying to move Geno for a late conditional pick....and if that fails, which it probably would, outright releasing him.

    I am going on record...

If Lynch is there at 20, we should pass and not take him.

Yeah Geno would become very expendable if we drafted a QB and resigned Fitz

BPA at #15, ideally an OT. Having that second 1st rounder does make it much easier to take a chance on the QB of the future with #20, but my preference is Cook over Lynch or Hack.

Wentz, Goff and Lynch are guys you might invest a top 36 pick in with the plan that they will be starting for you at QB in a couple of years at the outside.

There are a few other guys you might spend a 4th round pick on with the plan they'll be in the mix and probably backups, similar to Petty last year. Those would be Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenburg and Connor Cook. None of these three is worth a mid-round 2nd or a 3rd because odds are they're just career backups and you don't want to spend a pick that will reliably produce a good starter at another position on somebody who is likely to be a backup.

After that you're talking 6th and 7th round picks. There are a bunch of guys in this draft that are worth a flyer later in the draft. The upside is big and the risk is low and if they hit you're in great shape, albeit they are 100-1 to hit.

    Don't think he'll be there at 20.

We'll take him if he is.

Ponder this...if we trade wilkerson on thursday the only possible reason would be to take a qb..not an edge rusher or a tackle but a qb. you just don't trade the best player on your team to get a nobody.

If we trade Muhammad Wilkerson for Paxton Lynch, I think I would lose my mind

Would you trade 1 season of Muhammad Wilkerson plus a sandwich pick between the 3rd and 4th rounds in the 2018 draft 2 years away for Paxton Lynch?

If I can't trade Mo for the 7th pick in the draft, if I were GM, I would take my chances in re-negotiating and keep him under contract this season. No deal, then he walks and I'll take my 3rd. Paxton Lynch, not a fan of his skill-set.

Here is the list of all defensive linemen making the really big money right now:

    Suh (Fins) $19M a year, $60M guaranteed
    Vernon (Giants) $17M a year, $40M guaranteed
Watt (Texans) $16.67M a year, $21M guaranteed at signing, $51M guaranteed after year 2.
    Dareus (Bills) $15.85M a year, $43M guaranteed.
    Quinn (Rams) $14.25M a year, $15M guaranteed.
    Jackson (Jaguars) $14.25M a year, $31.5M guaranteed.
    McCoy (Bucs) $13.6M a year, $14.7M guaranteed.

Now, which of the teams above seems soundest to you in their judgement and gives you full confidence that the market they have set is the appropriate one for a winning NFL franchise?

Because I see like oh-fer-the-playoffs in recent years out of that group of teams and I'm thinking they're all Al Davising the DL market the way Al Davis did for CB's, again being followed by a bunch of teams that had trouble making the playoffs when they bought into that valuation.

I'd rather the Jets let Mo go as a UFA this year the way the Panthers did with Norman, than lock him up to a long-term deal in a market defined by the teams above.

Norman had 1 year of stellar productivity, it's not the same scenario. We have one of the best 2 way interior lineman in the entire league. I want to win this season. We might not have Sheldon Richardson for some time and Leonard still needs to develop. Trading away one of the best lineman in the league for another lottery ticket isn't the recipe for success. The market is messed up, but I would rather keep Mo here as long as possible if we can't find the right deal. I'm not trading him to just trade him.

If Lynch is there, take him.
The notion that Petty is crazy.
If anything, see if there is a taker for Geno.

The Jets have to shit or get off the pot with Mo.
Trade him to get maybe two this year and one next.
But oif you're not going to pay him (which really seems stupid because he's one the league's best, get rid of him)

Why have an unhappy player, who could be a distraction?
There are a number teams looking for a D-linem,an.
Of course Mo rehabbing an injury hurts his value.

    Lynch is a smokescreen.

Everybody has us taking him and that's just fine with Mac!! I don't know who he will take but I will guarantee its not Lynch!
