Couldn't agree more. Mark did ok taking the Jets their his rookie season, and now he has 6 more years NFL experience. Plus the Broncos team (defense) is like what the Jets had only on steroids. I have no doubt Mark could take that defense to the SB.
Of course it's unacceptable. But I'm not going to say Cook is a bad guy because of one bad moment. Maybe he is a bad guy, and if so, I don't want him. But we as fans don't know that. It's up to the GM to figure it out.
It's not much of a secret he's kind of a douche and that clip only accentuates it. I don't know him personally but there is enough chatter about him that it's hard not to believe it. Again, how was a SENIOR QB who was going into his third year as a starter on a National Championship contender NOT named the unquestioned Captain of the team? Because he's a leader, a great guy, someone every teammate looks up to and will run through walls for? Or maybe he's just a semi talented jerkoff. Come on, MAN! _
This is the situation Mark Sanchez has waited his whole career for after the first couple of seasons. He's on a loaded team again with a great defense and some playmakers on offense and there's nobody on the roster at QB who is clearly better than him. It's his shot to be a star for a couple of seasons. If Elway is playing his cards right he'll start Sanchez and draft a rookie to do nothing but sit for a year or maybe two. If Sanchez gets hurt or really screws up, well that's when rookies get to play and Elway might get lucky - just not win a Super Bowl this season.
It's a flag. Is he a bad guy? I don't know. But now he has to prove he's a good guy. Arrogance is a flag and betrays character flaws. You don't have to commit a crime to prove you're an asshole and not worth investing in. Nobody wants baggage. I said earlier that interviews will be critical for GM's and their teams. And he has surely brought attention upon himself. The background is big too. So the other things about him will be analyzed also. Who needs a special needs asshole who doesn't give a shit about anybody but himself?
And who isn't very good. Some folks are calling him Jay Cutler without the arm. I don't want a self entitled douche running my franchise unless he's a superior talent. And even then I'd have a hard time rooting for him. _
Not Jay Cutler, I again recommend actually watching some tape. You saying the same stuff I rebuked months ago. Stokes you won't last long if you do the watch tape.
Yep. It's about investing in him to lead the team. Not about the morality of him being a bad guy. I said about Manziel before the darft that he would get his comeuppance in the NFL. I'm feelin' the same way with this guy. We'll see how it turns out. Manziel still has a chance to grow up I suppose ....At the expense of Mike Pettine & Co.
Manziel is an entitled pussy that was rich from the start with no intangibles, that ain't Cook one bit. Arrogant but wants to be great own his own.
You rebuked nothing and I watched about 15 full games of his. I don't need to watch more "tape". He's a decent player, will be a long time back up but he's not good enough to lead a team to consistent contention and him being a jerkoff makes it all the more reason I don't want him. _
Looks like Denver will give up the farm to get Lynch above us so it really doesn't matter and the Jets will be putting second rate QBs out there for another 5 years anyway..
We already have a solid QB prospect that the Jets have had in the building for a full year now that the GM says they are very high on. Bryce Petty. He has the arm, the size, the athleticism, the character. He just needed the seasoning. He is getting it now. If the Jets take another QB, I'd rather not chase Lynch. But I'd be fine with a guy like Hackenberg in the second round. The Jets usually bomb in the 2nd anyway, so might as well grab him.
+1000 Petty is a better QB than any QB in this draft. Don't waste any pick on a player not as good as the guy on our roster when we could better spend those picks on the Oline and linebackers. And a fucking punter. _
That and having a team that does not require you to make big plays game after game but will highlight the few that you come up with. Sanchez in Denver is the Trent Dilfer in Baltimore scenario, however the offenses have changed since Dilfer's day and a QB gets to look better now with average skills.
I wish I saw a way that Conklin was getting to 20 but I think his drop protection is the Titans at 15. This assuming he does not go somewhere from 7 to 10 which is a real possibility.
