Sadly I agree. Would love to see St Louis pull it out but that 2OT game was a gut punch. Might not shock me if the Blues can eek out a Game 7 win but Id be shocked if they close them out in Chicago.
I must have been John Wilkes Booth or some real piece of shit in a past life to end up a Jets and Capitals fan.
The Sharks were by far the better team over the course of the series and deserve to move on. They appear poised to make a run in the west
3-3 headed to the third. What a period, San Jose makes the ultimate statement. Sharks are a good team. I personally would love to see Joe Thornton get a ring. He was outstanding this year, as usual. Point per at age 36 what a beast. Long way to go tho
I wanted to believe the Kings could turn the series around, but they didn't finish the season very strong and I'm not sure they would have even beaten Nashville had they hung on to win the division. Quick let a lot of junk in even when the defense wasnt letting them just walk in.
My favorite series continues tonight as the Blues try to close out the Blackhawks in Chicago. Should be electric!
The best series of the first round is going 7! I truly believe the Blues have been the best team in the entire first round and they might not even survive after Monday night. This Blackhawks team truly never gives up. What a tough out they will be for anyone if they win Game 7. Bad news for the Blues is it seemed like the Blackhawks finally clicked in the 2nd period tonight. It literally took them 6 games. Still, the Blues are at home. Can't wait. (I guess I'll watch the Caps in between).
The Ducks outplayed the Hawks last year as well until the 7th game and we all know how that turned out.
Flyers at least have a goalie moving forward...as long he is healthy he always is a good player to me. The league gets crybaby and OV. Should be good for the league
Agreed. Unstoppable Force vs. Immovable Object. Bring it. Yeah, huge Hats off to Neuvy and the Flyers. People started pointing the finger at the Caps, but the truth was the Flyers played great hockey the last 3 games.
the NHL has been forcing teams to play at odd times to accommodate TV and then we come to tomorrow night. Two games and they begin a half an hour apart. WTF? They could've at least reduced the overlap.
I always wished the NBA and the NHL would separate their post seasons. I'm more partial to the NBA playoffs, but I try to watch as much of both as I can. Luckily, most of the NBA games have been boring blowouts. Literally every game except Rockets/Warriors game 3, OKC/Mavs game 2, and 2 Hawks/Celtics games. Terrible for the NBA.
Florida's young roster was not prepared for the toll of overtime in the playoffs. 0-3 in games that went to OT. Jagr looked old. Tavares put Brooklyn on his back in this series. Tampa should prove to be more of a challenge for the Isles
neuvirth is a good goalie. He was very good in Buffalo last year. Too good actually so they were forced to trade him because they were tanking for McEichel
Someone needs to point out the GENIUS that was the Islanders final game of the season. They were at home against the Flyers who had already clinched. The Islanders winning that game would have sent them to Pittsburgh for Round 1. If they somehow won that series they would have played the President's Trophy winning Caps (who eliminated them last year). They did all they could to lose, which made their road to the Eastern Conference Finals the Panthers and the Lightning without Stamkos. Amazing. Congrats to them on winning last night though. Fun series. Tavares was great.
Both of these EC series could go either way. I do believe the Pens/Caps will be representing the East for the cup though. Can St Louis finally advance and knock off Chicago? To me it looks like it will be the Ducks vs STL/CHI/DAL in the West final. I'm hoping for STL but it'll probably be CHI again
