I don't know how we won but I'll take it. I don't know what the refs saw to take away the goal and call offsides but I'll take it. I don't know how we are up 2-1 but I'll take it.
The lack of defense on this team still shocks me, after 82 games they manage to not keep an eye out on the offensive players hanging around the net. That play was offside, he was in the zone before the puck came over. I'll tell you one thing, JT is probably top 5 player in the NHL, he is playing with scrubs and he is still getting the job done. I don't know how he does it, game in and game out. I'm also glad Pollock got some time on the ice, I give Capuano a little credit for that. The third line of Nelson, Quine and Prince played well.
I am watching this game and I just keeping yelling at my tv " hit him " as panther forwards are roaming free in front of our net, behind our net, in the corners,,,,,if only we would hit these guys more in our zone it would make a huge difference . Props on the challenge I don't know who told them to call it ,maybe they just needed a timeout / break there which we did but man that was close but yes offsides . As far as JT , I have said it over and over again for over 2 years now " can you imagine how great this guy would be if he had someone to play with him ? ",,,,ps never wanted them to trade Okposso love that guy ! Greiss played way better later in the game controlling the rebounds ,,,,,c ya Wednesday ,,huge game,,,,foot on their throat if they can win it Brooklyn will be rocking !
I do the same thing, my wife knows I get amped up for hockey, I love the islanders but I can watch any team during playoff hockey. I know you can't hit everyone all the time, but stop staring at the puck and look around you, it's the first thing you are taught as a hockey player, Head On A Swivel. Offense or defense look around you, see who is there. They also kept going to the net, I noticed it early on, everyone going to the net.
Ticket prices in Florida have gone way down since game 3,,,,I'm rolling the dice and going to hope the Islanders can win tonight and go up 3 - 1,,,,either way see you Friday !!!
Just getting to the arena,,,pretty pumped,,,,florida sports radio pretty cocky about panthers winning tonight,,we shall see,,,anyone watching at home we ar sitting even with the Luongo goaline to his left 8 rows off glass,,,me and the kid are wearing our JT jerseys,,,let's go Islanders !
Interesting stat that I heard,,,,,,not sure if its accurate but they said and I quote " in game 6 home series clinching games the Islanders are 6 and ohhhhhhh they ave never lost a series clinching game 6 at home " ,,,,,,they were talking about this on the radio,,,,,can anyone verify
I don't root for the Rangers often,,,,,but I was rooting in this series,,,I hate the Pens ! Back on thread lets go Islanders ,end it in Brooklyn !
I don't know about that Joe Willie,,,,,,I guess we will see tonight if that stat becomes 6 and 1 or 7 and ohhhh .
I did not write this but here goes Al Arbour Who art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name Nineteen series won In our dynasty's run In Nassau before the move to Brooklyn Give us this day our greatest win And give us our best passes As we hit those who pass against us And lead us not into elimination But deliver us from Jagr For 91 is our king and our power play Four Cups together Amen
I am not sure what is worse,,,waiting for someone besides 91 to put the puck in the net ? Or sitting here in Florida listening to these homer Panther announcers,,,,they are the freaking worst,,,,It is beyond painful to listen to them ! The volume will be off during O T !
If JT had someone to play with he would be even more unreal if that is even possible ! Aside from Griess standing on his head JT single handedly carried this team to a victory tonight ! The guy is in EFFing amazing ! You can say so many things about him but the words just are not enough , if you watch this guy every night he is amazing ! Congrats to the Islanders and us fans we all deserve this one !
Tough losses for the Panthers. They're a young team outside Jagr, and after a surprise this season are setup to be pretty good for a long time. Barkov, Bjustad, Huberdeau, Trocheck, Reilly Smith, and Ekblad are all 24 and younger, and as far as I know they're all homegrown outside of Smith. What they really need is for one of those players to take the next step to superstardom, and they're going to be a force. That and finding a long term solution at goalie.
