"If you don't throw the ball, you don't warrant that much money" . So lets get rid of Revis while we're at it... Mo wants what the fair market value is for a player of his caliber at his position. Look what the Giants paid for Vernon. Sorry but a low 2nd round value pick will , odds are, not replace a player like Wilkerson. Hell, who's to even bet that a 1st rounder will either? I'd rather take Mo for what he can offer the Jets in 2016, which is a dominant /disruptive force than some wish-full 2nd rounder that may not even crack the starting rotation. Jets are going to be facing a tough schedule - having Mo will make it interesting to see what unfolds than to have 'woulda, coulda, shoulda' posts all season long. Plus, Mo knows he will have to display his talents to negotiate for the deal he's looking for in 2017. All the more reason to keep him.
We should. Revis played bad last year and got burnt too many times. We way overpaid him. Two years ago we could have signed him for $12M a year, but last year we paid $16M. Revis has lost a step and not even worth the $12M.
2 years ago he was coming off a disappointing year with the cloud of an ACL injury hanging over him. His 'lost step' as some have put it, was due to his injury he sustained to his wrist, that needed surgery in the off-season. He was not able to jam his opponent at the line and that gave the illusion of the 'lost step'- it especially was a factor in the Buffalo game.
