Draft is a little over a week away, we have a clear picture of potential first rounders. If we take a lineman in the first who do you want

    Tier 1: Tunsil
will be off the board obviously

    Tier 2:
    Stanley
    Conklin
    Decker
At least two of these guys will be gone, probably Conklin and Stanley.

    Tier 3:
    Spriggs
    Ifedi

These are the guys I can see being picked in round one. I wouldn't want a guard until round 2.

Realistically, we'll have our pick of Spriggs or Ifedi, and maybe Decker. Decker is the safest pick but he projects as a right tackle, more of a run game mauler. Ifedi has the body but is too raw. Spriggs is very athletic and has a huge cieling, needs to polish up on some technique.

I think to make this tread more realistic, you should give us some 2nd, 3rd and 4th round choices instead of 1st round.

The way the draft is going we may be able to get Tunsil with the seventh or eighth overall pick.

OT is a premium position, after the first the guys available would need a couple years development. I like the strategy of taking a tackle in the first because we can plug that guy in at RT immediately.

i really Conklin but he'll be gone.

    Also like Spriggs and Ifedi.
Spriggs a little moreso, as i believe he projects much better to LT than Ifedi does.
Ifedi can be a really solid RT tho, so i'd still consider him in round 1.

Outside of OT, i really like Nick Martin.
would consider trading back in the 1st, or up in the 2nd to get him.
future C, and can play either G spot.

If going OL, would take a shot at Spriggs because of his left side experience (and as Cady health insurance). Decker like you said reads like a upgrade of Breno and while Ifedi's got 25 lbs. on Spriggs, his experience like Decker's been mostly on the right side. Spriggs looks best suited of the three to "dance in space" pass protection-wise.

Question is, do the man-power blocking scheme Jets want him and have there been any Jets-Spriggs visits? Assuming the Jets sit at #20, outside of the Saints at #12 who already have Terron Armstead, most of the other teams that zone block and could use an athletic tackle like Spriggs (Chiefs, Seahawks, Packers, Redskins) draft after the Jets.

edit: could see Spriggs getting his feet wet on the right side and if need be, be the one who could make the switch in a pinch to the left side better than Decker (and Ifedi).

Is there any player you guys would trade Mo and our first for? Tunsil, Bosa, Jack, Ramsey and do you think it's possible?

Would love Ifredi/Spriggs/Clark in the 2nd round. Not sure either makes it but if they are there they would be s perfect starter at RT and we could cut Breno!

Clark is so fundamentally raw and not young, he's about to turn 23. I would hate to spend a high pick on him.

I'd do it for Tunsil, Jack, or Goff. And no, I don't think it's possible. Ramsey I think will be solid but not elite. Bosa I think will be a huge disappointment for the team that drafts him.

Ifredi has no experience at LT. Spriggs and Clark are good prospects in round 2. I don't think they will be available then though.

I'd do it for Tunsil, Stanley, Ramsey, Hargreaves, Buckner

You don't like Jack? Also, Buckner is a nice prospect and all but TRADING UP for a DL? There would be riots, haha.

I'm worried about Jack's knee. I don't know what to say about Buckner except I wouldn't have a problem with him in the scenario we are discussing but would go for the other 4 players before him.

I like his frame, he just looks like a perfect LT in 2 years and his 36'' long arms and the longest in the draft class. His technique and positioning needs work, although he does have quick feet. IMO he is a big upgrade over Breno at $5+ mil and can be a future LT after some development at RT...

Cutting Breno and replacing him with Le'Raven Clark would be an amazing job by Mac at pick #51.

Would be nice if the 49ers were willing to flop 1st and 2nd and throw us a late pick for Mo. That would put us in range to get Conklin and Martin with 1st and 2nd and solidify the line moving forward.
