they were desperation throws... but the one in the endzone with us in the redzone down by 2. you CANT throw a pick there. you have the go ahead score in your back pocket. and it was maybe his worse throw of the season, on his most important throw of the season... hoyer played alot worse, but fitz choked just as bad... maybe worse when you consider anything but a turnover and the jets take the lead/win
yea that int was fucking terrible but at least he had us driving for the go ahead score. the hoyer home platoff game was one of the worst playoff qb performances I've ever seen.
it was, but that team was outmatched and KC was the best defense in football the last 11 weeks of the season. they manhandled texans in every aspect... texans couldn run or block or get open. it was all around ass kicking. like i said, hoyer played worse no doubt, but fitz choked just as bad if not worse.

I'm thinking the qb situation works itself out draft day one way or another. we either trade up and draft a qb, trade for a qb with a team that drafts one, or trade mo for something else freeing up cap space to sign fitz. hoyer is an insurance policy if all hell breaks loose imo. maybe wishful thinking but seems reasonable to me
I understand your point of view. You make a fair point. But imo Geno is too unproven and Petty is too raw then you throw in an unproven rookie and going into the year with that is too risky. Having a veteran around is good for the young QB's to learn from. And it provides an insurance in case Geno struggles.
insurance for what? if geno struggles and petty isn't the answer a guy like hoyer is going to insure what exactly? get us to 6-10 and out of reach of the top qbs of the next draft?
I'm still hoping they sign Both Hoyer and Fitz. That would be win win and Geno would probably be sent packing.
I have read many comments made by fellow Posters and have to agree with those that: 1. Recognize the fact that Fitz was beat by Geno even though Fitz had already a mastery of Gaileys system coming in. 2. Fitz has blinded half of JETS NATION into thinking he is better than he is. There is so much film available that clearly proves this. Intercepts let passes is one .. Situational football is the name of the game and he could have killed us. He is a defensive coordinators dream as you can easily plan against his abilities which was proven if you watched the games last year. What teams could not plan for was the play of our WR's especially Marshall!!! 3. Why pay the 2015 2nd or 3rd choice in terms of signing our backup/competition QB a high salary?! Fitz was not even our first choice as Geno's backup. The Talent on the offensive side of the ball could have made Napoleon Dynamite's uncle look competent this season. 4. If you look at Fitz's tape .. You can see how overrated he is and how his numbers are deceiving. Adding a QB with arm strength could significantly improve our offense alone. AGAIN , look at the tape. Finding an open receiver could have been able by Chan Gailey at QB GIVEN how well our line gave Fitz time to throw. 5. Signing Hoyer for CHEAP as we did with Fitz in 2015 to compete with Geno is better than WASTING $9-16 Million for a $4 Million QB. Especially if Geno would again stand out in Practice as the superior talent. Look back at the forums and read how everyone knocked Fitzpatrick and his abilities and then count the hundreds of people that stated he could not excel given his age and track record. The same will be said for his replacement wether it's Geno , Hoyer or a Rookie. Gailey will make you look good. 6. Given our cap situation .. QB is one of our lowest paid positions which has enabled us to stock talent elsewhere to keep us competitive. In order for that formula to work .. We need a CHEAP Vet and or another ROOKIE contract at that position. Look for us to make that happen in this draft .. ITS A MUST.
If we dont land a qb in the draft its take it or leave it time for Fitz. If he continues his ridiculous hold out for 15+ mil or we move on to Hoyer. Who wins the qb job from there is anyone's guess. Well you got angry and said fucking so you must be right
