Fired Special Teams coach. Cut punt returner. Cut punter.

12th best GM in the league.

I'd like to see a statistic on how many punts he downed inside the 10, or inside the 5. I remember him being great at pinning opponents deep.

28th ranked punter in the league but at least one poster of inadequate intelligence has to be the contrarian.

Not sure why they'd want him when his terrible punts were a big reason they beat us last year..besides this play

Um, I may have to eat some crow here, but it seems you guys are right about Quigley. Looking up the stats, he wasn't even among the league leaders in punts inside the 20 .... so why did it seem like he did that a lot??? ..... I guess I'll have to admit I suck at evaluating punters.

(btw, I narrowly escaped getting stuffed in a virtual locker for looking up NFL punting statistics!)

Not sure how anyone could watch the games last year and think Quigley was a top punter. Guess that just goes to show that someone here might not be a Jet fan and is just trolling. As if the religion thread wasn't enough proof.

Hey, if the Eagles want to play Russian Roulette with Quigley, I say good for them! Quigley has to earn a livin too just like the rest of us and I'm very happy for him and the Eagles. That being said, I'm ecstatic for the Jets! Even no punter is better than Quigley on a good day. I'm sure Mac will turn every rock over to find another serviceable punter for us.

Despite the fact that real strategy is eroding in football, there is still something to be said about having good field position when you're a defensive team. Bad punts were common on this team, but shanked punts are deadly.

Qugiley was garbage, but I hated the lack of attention the position got from Bowles and Mac. I get it, everyone fair catches things now, but until they get rid of punting or something, you have to try to be successful. Spend a 6th or 7th on a punter and we would probably get the best punter in the draft class. Alternatively look abroad, theres got to be another Ben Graham out there somewhere.

No, it shows that someone here is mature enough to admit when they're wrong. Or to back up their opinions with actual facts, which is what I do in that other thread you mentioned. Closed-minded people don't like it when I use science and other facts to support something they want to just dismiss out of hand.

Amen! Adiós Quigley, it ONLY took us 3 seasons of putting up with this atrocity.

On a semi-positive I guess he came in handy as PK in the game Folk went down but none the less good riddance.
