Exactly. And while I would off myself if we took another DE in round one, all it would take is Mo getting traded and Sheldon slipping up again and getting suspended a year for DL to be a serious need again. So I think you need to go BPA 90% of the time. Sometimes need is more important, like if a potential franchise QB is sitting there while you're on the clock.
If we take another DE in the first round the Jets organization should off themselves. Enough is enough. Coples, Mo, Sheldon, Williams. It's gone too far as is. We ruined Coples attempting to play a near 300 pound man at OLB (no telling if he would've been a stud or dud at DE but regardless) and to only get a 3rd for Mo is downright pathetic. Even with just Sheldon and his issues and Williams we're set for a long long time at DE just as we have been for the last couple years. Time to address some other spots.
I'd love either Coleman or Treadwell at 20, I really think we'd be well served to have the future #1 receiver on the roster this season. And Petty loved Coleman at Baylor if it comes to that.
Will Fuller is alright but not really interested in him at 20.....I love Coleman though. He's going to be a great fit in the NFL with his explosiveness Treadwell is a must pick if he falls but I doubt he will I would even trade up for Treadwell a few spots, he's going to be great
Yep. Seems like this organization loves combine hero receivers too. Devin Smith didn't seem like one, but at this point his only redeeming quality is his speed. Treadwell is in the mold of a Julio Jones type of guy even though he's not as fast. Big, physical, strong hands, good leaping ability. I doubt he gets past the Giants at 10 though and is really the only the receiver I'd take if I'm the Jets. Coleman seems like he could be a good player, but I don't think he'll be the best player available when we're picking. Treadwell would be by a mile. The Powell/Forte combination signings seems like the Jets plan to mask the lack of having a #3 receiver and looks like next year is the year we go after a WR in the draft/free agency. I was a bigger fan of Marqise Lee from that 2014 draft but man imagine what this passing attack would've looked like with Jarvis Landry, Allen Robinson, John Brown or even Donte Moncrief (all taken after Amaro) operating out of the slot. Fitz might've thrown for 40 touchdowns....
I probably would too. Even though I think the kid from TCU is going to be the 2nd best WR in this draft , he likely will be taken after Fuller and Coleman. To me Fuller , as good as he was at ND , has the upside of a Kenny Stills and not much more. And thats not worth a 1st rounder for whoever takes him.
i like coleman more than fuller due to fuller's penchant for body catches ... but how is fuller a combine hero? he put up huge numbers the past two years
I just mean he's a much better athlete than he is a football player. He'll wow you with the 40 and his very but his hands and route running don't impress me at all.
