Signing Hoyer would only accomplish wasting cap space. I'd prefer Geno or Petty start over that bum.

If that becomes our only choice (Hoyer, Geno, Petty) then MacCagnan should be fired.

Why is it sad? Wouldn't you want the best-prepared QB to start?

If Hoyer is here, I won't mind Geno starting. TBH, I expect him to fuck up enough by ~ week 4, right when Hoyer gets familiar with the system enough to start.

That's right!!! Fire everyone who dared not hiring a minimum of Matt Ryan - caliber QB.
Let's go back to good old days of Rex Ryan and start TT!!

It's sad because Hoyer is as bad or worse than Geno... none are the answer at QB. Both shouldn't even be in the NFL at this point. I would rather have Tebow and he was horrible too. Fitz at least give us a chance to win some games. Hoyer and Geno makes me feel like we are the Browns.

Sounds about right. Maybe you should tell FO to go get us some Rodgers.

At this point, what other choices does he have unless there's a QB the Jets like that fall to them in the draft (either at #20 or higher via a trade up)? Which JAG would you sign. Paying Fitz $16 million is out of the question. That would be a fireable offense imo.

Or try to draft a qb like every other team. Eventually we will hit on one. Doesn't have to be a first round but honestly getting all these shitty qbs does nothing but keep us a shitty team.

I agree Fitz is not worth 16 million. But Hoyer isn't really worth 16 bucks. Fitz has to drop his price or retire. No one will pay him anywhere near that. He will come around.

Someone here already said that Jets drafted QB most of the past year (although I'm not sure Boyd should be qualified as QB). True or not, how exactly does it help with current situation this season?

And you know that how, exactly?
More importantly, can a GM hang his future on this or perhaps he should set a deadline and prepare alternative options?

You don't just give up trying to find your franchise qb because you haven't found it yet. Hell with that mentality you might as well just give up trying to win a championship. We have been trying that for almost 50 years.

He said he has a deadline and he hasn't reached it yet. No he won't bank on it. But what other team will offer Fitz 8 million? None. What other team even wants Fitz anymore? None. Hell the only one that even inquired was Denver. And that stop as soon as he gave a price.

Do you have problem with logic, or comprehension??

How does drafting a QB solve immediate problem now?
To put it differently, what does continuous search for QB has to do with Fitz or Hoyer or any other vet?

I won't speak about Hoyer as I haven't seen him play more than once, and don't remember or know that much about him.

How long are we supposed to wait for Fitz to come around? We can't wait forever, and we shouldn't. He got greedy. No one's going to pay him 2x what he's worth. He can sign or go eff himself imo

Or Fitz can wait for a QB to get injured -- done it multiple times over the years, or just retire.
Again, as a GM can you put all your eggs into RF?

I have no problem with either. If we draft a qb in the first or 2nd then we have more leverage on Fitzpatrick. And as far as Hoyer is concerned he is worthless to this team as he doesn't know the system and was never even a decent starting qb. He would not be able to teach a qb (which we have one in petty that need to learn from someone). And most likely won't be able to help this team win.

I agreed he can sign for 8 million or go somewhere else. My point is Hoyer hasn't shown enough for us to even bring him in. He had 1 good 4 game stretch last year. The defense helped him tremendously.

Maybe you go get Glennon and if he's good you give him a good chunk of money next off season.

Not saying put your eggs into Fitz. But waiting till after draft day to push it make more since at this time. I am sure Mike Mac has a plan and it doesn't involve Hoyer atm.
