Wasnt aruging that. Just said that Hopkins is a top WR in this league. A lot of people can say that Matt Ryan "only has Julio Jones" Eli "only has Odell Beckham". Lots of QB's in the league have worse. Its true that our position players are far and away better. But there's no chance that a QB like Hoyer could've had the season that Fitz had here last year. No chance. He wouldn't put in the work and he wouldn't have developed the chemistry with Marshall and Decker. In a year where we have to be all in , it makes no sense to mess with the most important position on the offense.
good points. the Fitzpatrick argument definitely has continuity and familiarity on its side. I just think we need to be very careful about paying him big money. If the money is close I would prefer Fitz but I dont know if the money would be close
I will agree with that. From everything I have seen including "Hard Knocks", Hoyer doesn't have even close to Fitz's work ethic. I still say if we could trade Mo for another first rounder I would love Lynch. He could be used as leverage against Fitz and we could cut geno. Have Lynch learn from Fitz. But we are talking perfect world.
brian hoyer fucking blows moose cock. he's not even close to fitzpatrick and shouldn't be considered. I'd rather have geno smith starting and I have a very low opinion of him. fuck this guy.
That is something I could atleast get behind , even though I really dont like Lynch too much. If that happens I wouldnt love it but I wouldn't go crazy over it. But everything I've seen has us using Mo as a sweetener in possibly moving up to grab Lynch , but also giving up our 20th pick in that type of trade. That would drive me nuts!
@JasonLaCanfora 14m14 minutes ago Also, Jets have interest in Brian Hoyer, as they did a year ago. Very likely to schedule a visit with him soon, quite possibly this week
Yes. If we have to trade both Mo and out pick then hell no. Mo is worth a first. If we had to sweeten the deal then it's not worth it. Lowest I would take for Mo is a high second. And with rams trading so far up I think the only team ahead of us that may consider Lynch that high is the Bills. I am not surprised by anything from Rex and company. That said I think Lynch learning from Fitz could generate a true franchise qb for us.
I can't believe this fan base is so hungry for a QB that Hoyer sounds like a good option. It's pretty sad!
or we cold start geno and win 4 games. Realistically Hoyer is leverage that we dont go into the season with geno as the starter. I don't know much of anything about him but he the best factor is his name is not smith
His name might as well be Fitz. There is a reason the Texans cut him. He is not a long term solution nor someone capable of teaching a long terms solution. Maybe Gailey can cover some of his deficiencies. Maybe not. I don't see why we would take a shot on someone who we know is not a solution long term and also may not even be a stop gap when we could just use him for leverage to get someone who could teach younger players. Someone who know and does "decent" in this system. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Or we pay Fitz 12 mil a year and maybe make the playoffs. Even if we dont make it , Id rather it go to shit knowing that the franchise put together the best team to make a run. And didnt just cheap out and pay a garbage player like Hoyer and hope for the best, instead of the guy that just set several team records.
Menace this us just another thing that I agree with you on,,,,Hoyer sucks,,,if we can use him as leverage to sign Fitz than great if not move on,,,,,,,,ps lets go Islanders !
I might throw a trumpertantrum if we sign this loser. this better just be a leverage play for fitz negotiations.
Actually with Hoyer here, there will be open 2- or 3-QB competition for the starting job. So Hoyer here is not a leverage against Geno starting, it's give him a shot at it. Shot he won't have of Fitz is signed.
Sadly that's a shot Geno will have a good shot to win. Only say that because he is more familiar with the system.
