I'm hoping for the best regarding this kid but my expectations are low. Maybe its just the result of past draft disappointments I've experienced with this team fogging my glasses but I don't see this kid being anything but a journeyman WR in this league. I really want to eat these words.
I agree with you, the majority of the board wants Fitz back, one of his flaws is the lack of deep ball, he will never get the ball out far enough for a receiver like Smith. That's why I'm okay with giving Petty a shot as the starter. He can probably replicate what Fitpatrick did, how many times did Fitz throw the ball up for grabs and let Marshal do the rest. We know he can throw the ball farther down field than Ryan can.
Who wants to predict Devin Smiths numbers for next year? I'm saying 42 catches for 578 yards and 4 tds Either that or 12 catches for 47 yards and 0tds
I think barring injury this will be a redshirt year for him. At best hes competing with Thompkins for the 5th target behind Marshall, Decker, Enunwa, and Amaro.
He tore his ACL in November. As I and other have said, he will maybe see 3-4 games this year. His true test will be 2017. By that time I hope he builds his body up and we have a QB that can push the ball down field to him. D. Smiths value is taking the top off the defense and opening up the underneTh routs for Deck and Marsh. Without him being healthy and that QB it really dose not matter Pulling for this kid though
We'll see when he gets back on the field. Hopefully, he's been in the weight room after spending many hours at an all you can eat buffet. If not, he'll just join the long list of other Jet WR's who busted early in their careers. Its really that simple. Either he gets bigger and stronger, or he walks the plank.

I know, it gets boring being the guy whose limited existence here is encompassed by creating an annual Caddyshack thread, but you might actually learn something by reading football threads and trying to understand the game, instead of just being a punchline. I bet you have 20 times over the number of posts in the BS Forum Rangers threads than your entire history in this subforum. Broaden your horizons, Hackett. By the way, I personally think that Smith will end up being another shitty lock by the Jets. I just haven't latched onto that as my sole reason for posting here in the Jets forum.
Considering the prior players were DeWayne Robertson, Kyle Wilson, and Walter Powell, I would say I have a pretty good track record. If that's the only thread you believe I have created, perhaps it is your existence that is limited? In what area of the game have I demonstrated weakness?
