latest mocks are showing him slipping to a late first rounder... I know we need OL or Pass rush but marshall is getting older and we have seen what a player of his caliber brings to an offense where he makes even fitz look good. Hes slipping because of his 40 speed (4.6) but I would be shocked if marshall of the last few years ran a faster 40 and look what he can do... If hes there I would take him in a heart beat, hes a beast and gailey would know how to use him.
there is nothing about the roster that would prevent us from taking him if mac has him at the top of the board when we are OTC. usually when players start slipping its because people are getting better ideas of how the g.m.'s have their boards stacked. so there is a decent chance he can be there but also that mac will pass on him too
I think Treadwell would be an excellent pick but i don't think his 40 time will affect him being a top 15 pick.
I think it would be ludicrous for him to fall out of the top ten. He has special skills. Even though speed isn't his game, he ran away from DBs who ran in the 4.5s at the combine in games this year.
Seems like Alshon Jeffery all over again. Would not be at all disappointed if he ended up being the pick but wouldn't couldn't on it.
Agreed. He looks to be a stud receiver and his ability to track the ball and go up and get it should trump any slow 40 times. Unless a receiver runs something ridiculously bad like a 5.2, their 40 time shouldn't affect their draft stock that much. People forget that these 40 times are run without pads, without cuts and in no game situations. If the players tape shows that they run well in and out of breaks and can catch the ball well, then I don't really care about their 40 time. He'd be the perfect guy to replace Marshall. I hope he falls.
Him falling out of the top 10 would be surprising , never mind reaching us at 20. If he slipped to 20 there's gotta be some MAJOR issues only teams are aware of. I dont believe that current "Will Fuller 1st WR taken" hype. Any team that took him over Treadwell is out of their minds.
Depends who's on the board but Treadwell at 20 would most likely be BPA. Each time I see Alshon Jeffrey mentioned on this board I cringe and get angry we drafted Stephen Hill two spots ahead of him.
I was so upset when we took Hill over Jeffrey and I'll be just as upset if we pass on Treadwell for anyone If he somehow slips to us we should run up the card Watched a ton of Ole Miss games and the kid is a bonafide stud Belongs in the top 10 to be honest
I would love Treadwell. I think he has the best hands and runs the most polished routes in the draft. Put Decker in the slot with Marshall and Treadwell on the outside with Forte in the backfield! Shoot that's a QBs dream no matter who it is! Thing is Floyd's stock is also slipping a bit in the mocks and now with Brick gone Conklin looks pretty good too. Lynch would be a great option if there too and a bunch of experts have him falling to the Broncos. If Floyd, Treadwell, Lynch or Conklin is on the board who do we take???? That's a tough one but I take 1.Lynch 2.Floyd 3.Treadwell 4.Conklin
Treadwell would also give us the flexibility to almost exclusively use Decker in the slot where he'll be the best slot receiver in football. I don't see Treadwell as a guy that would navigate the slot very well early in his career, but Decker is great in that spot and Marshall works well there.
Fuck this. We already have a WR tandem that broke franchise records their first year playing together. We have a gaping hole at LT and we run a 3-4 with huge needs in the linebacking corp.
All four pundit mocks on NFL.com have Treadwell available for us at 20 (but he looks like a top 10 talent, so I think these guys are all nuts). http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/mock-drafts Doctson is also hovering around the early 20s in these mocks, as is Corey Coleman. Then I think there is a heap of guys in the second round who have serious potential: Sterling Shepard, Oklahoma Michael Thomas, Ohio State Will Fuller, Notre Dame Tyler Boyd, Pittsburgh Leonte Caroo, Rutgers This team is one Decker or Marshall injury from being a bottom 10 offense, and you can't project Marshall with too many more elite years, or him even being here when his contract expires after 2017. I would love Treadwell at 20, or Sterling Shepard at 51.
If it's reasonable to take 7 defensive ends in the last 3 years it's beyond reasonable to take this stud with Decker and Marshall aging. If
Marshall said he wants to play 1 or 2 more years. If he gets hurt or retires you've got a 30 year old Decker and the scrub squad running out there. The reason you disregard need in the draft is because team "needs" change at the drop of a hat.
