Here's one vote the jets DO NOT take a QB in round 1 or trade up in round 1 to do so. They have neglected OL for years (they could use 2-3 new good OL) and also have serious needs at LB. I don't know if Petty is their future at QB, but if you move up for Goff or take Lynch in round 1 you have just wasted your 4th round pick from last year. Even if Petty is not ready this year, he deserves a chance eventually before the jets dive in again in a Mark Sanchez trade up move like 2009. The reason WHY the jets OL is so old and bad is because of draft reaches like Stephen Hill, Mark Sanchez, Dexter McDuck, etc. in the early rounds. Time to address OL/LB IMO.

Your offensive line has to protect the most important player...which we don't have as yet.

I like Petty but he was 4th round pick

Have a down year and find your franchise QB

Here's my feeling. Sure the team up through the draft. Have a QB competition. And lets see how this team rolls our schedule can be LEAPS AND BOUNDS more difficult then last year lets see how our guys play this year and go from there. This will not be our year

How the hell is our 4th round pick wasted from last year when the perfect scenario is he turns into a solid backup? Had teams thought Petty could start in the near future he wouldn't have went 4th round. If he sucks so what it was worth a shot, if he turns into a good backup that could spot start it's a solid pick, if he turns into Tom Brady it's a lottery ticket. Definitely not a waste in anyway possible.

I agree....IMO this is not a good year to be targeting a QB. Even Wentz and Goff are bottom rd.1 type prospects if you ask me; more like Chad Pennington upside than Andrew Luck upside. The Rams were foolish for trading up for one of them.

Some scouts view Spriggs as being ranked in the bottom third of the first round. That would put him about right for the Jets. I've read that many scouts think he's the second best natural LT in the draft after Tunsil.

Yes that's how message boards work. Opinions...bad grammar...and badly structured statments.

Haha. You did manage all three of those. I wasn't going to mention the bad grammar, misused words or poor sentence structure. Glad to see you don't take yourself too seriously.

I did agree with the premis of your post until you got to "this will not be our year". I'm more in the "let's see" camp.
