because its a ton to give up a first round and 40 million in gauranteed money for a 3-4 DE. i certainly wouldnt consider it if the shoe was on the other foot. id instead have gone after it in free agency.
Give me two 2's (43 and 45) and I'm super happy. We get some cap room and 3 #2 picks! More realistically we get a 2nd and a 3rd.
I was just going to post this. This would be incredible. Go OLB+OT+OG and some combination of two of QB or CB or NT or WR or ILB with the five round 1-3 picks, Mac makes it rain on everyone, all is right with the world. I would get so hammered drunk on Saturday night if it went down like that
You can always package the picks to move back in the 1st. Not that I would do that, I want volume of top 50 talent to battle it out. We need youth and small contracts to contribute
You really think Mo will sit out the season over a minor injury? Don't forget 15m is more than he's ever made in a single season. Sitting out would not only cost him lots of money, it would also hinder his chances for a big money contract in 2017 from another team. I'd hate to have him play 2016 under the tag, but you know he'll be motivated in a contract year.
The Titans have the cap space and now they have the ammo to make a move for Mo and still draft well this year and next. You know they have to be at least thinking about it.
I'm going to be bummed out if we trade mo. This fan base. Future hall of fame de for selection in the 2nd and 3rd round and cap space (which we will have plenty of at the end of this 2016 season). Boggles the mind, and one thing is for sure, Jets lose out in a deal that involves trading mo. Sheldon will miss more time, fact. Leonard Williams far from Sheldon or wilk level. Of the three you trade Sheldon and find a way to book Wilkerson on a long term deal.
Future HOFer? LOL Whatever. He's a nice player, but hardly HOF material. You need to accept the fact that Mo is not gonna re-sign here. He wants too much money and too much guaranteed money. Unless he gets down off his high horse, it will never happen. Book on it! The same goes for Fitz.
im not saying that he will sit out the season, quite the opposite ... this negotiation is a game of chicken and the july 15 date is the crossroads as the date approaches, i think his injury will play a big part in him acquiescing a bit and agreeing to an exention
Of course! I hate that money is more important to Mo than staying with the Jets, but it is what it is.
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6464/muhammad-wilkerson According to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows, franchise-tagged RE Muhammad Wilkerson "would love" to play for the 49ers. Most of all, Wilkerson would love to get out of New York, where the Jets have shown less-than-zero interest in locking him up with long-term security. In San Francisco, Wilkerson would be a perfect scheme fit in their 3-4 defense and could be the replacement for RE Justin Smith after he retired following the 2014 season. The 49ers have the cap space to work out a mega extension, and the two teams could be a match in the draft if the Jets want to come up to No. 7 overall and if the 49ers would be willing to drop to No. 20. Wilkerson's situation will be one of the main things to watch come draft night. Apr 15 - 1:02 PM Source: Sacramento Bee

That's not half a bad idea. I know that Anthony Davis is all effed in the head with that retirement nonsense, but he's gotten into it a little bit with the SF GM Baalke and he was drafted out of Rutgers! Local fella. Maybe he wants to come home. Take over the RT spot. Not bad.
