Glad nobody is bugging out over this. This guy has never played more then 16 games in a season. He's an average journeyman asking for way to much. We're not winning a SB next season, so he can take a seat in his living room recliner for all I care.

They are looking at drafting another QB. They have Petty. If they resign Fitz who is the odd man out? Cutting Geno, the cap savings on LT, and a restructure here or there gets Fitz done/

I don't even think we need Fitz for more than 2 years tops

He is our bridge quarterback buying us time to land a Franchise QB or have BP step up

This bridge is over troubled waters and I am getting sick of Mr Fitz

Mac essentially saying go retire so,,,,

He's a good teammate but a career journeyman. Only time he got paid his performance went to shit. Jets are smart for not overpaying for a fungible commodity.

The way that Macc has not given into Fitz's unbelievable demands gives me renewed faith in the Jets organization.

Now if Woody can continue to keep out of it I'll really be a believer.

To hell with public opinion. Winning will cure all ills.

As much as I love what Fitz brings to this team both on & off the field I love the hard line stance the brain trust is taking.
Fact of the matter is we are a team with a lot of needs in terms of starting caliber players and depth behind them and Macc seems to be taking the approach that, yes we have the potential to make a playoff run but he also seems intent on not selling the long term goal of being a consistent team going forward.

If we don't take Lynch in the draft, which I'm pretty sure we won't, I'm kinda hoping we can make a deal for Glennon and bring a kid in here that not only has starting experience but also shows potential that he has the tools to be a successful QB POSSIBLY.
I'm putting my faith in Gailey with this thinking and hoping he may just be the QB whisperer, being able to pull all the potential out of a guy like Glennon and perhaps give us something we haven't had in FOREVER which is a QB of the future.

This is absolutely the #1 key right now. If Fitz wants 15M, enjoy retirement buddy because no one is giving him that much cash.

Yeah, wait until the Jets go 4-12 and billboards go back up. There's a reason Macc signed Darrelle Revis for $16 mill.

If we offered over 8 and he said no , I'm on the moving on wagon. Never made the playoffs, career journeyman, fool not to take 8+mil, continuity, gailey, Brandon Marshall, decker, forte, Powell.

Let's see a hungry petty in camp or Geno in a contract year with a lot to prove and some real weapons (step into the pocket kid, stop backing up).

yup...we shouldnt need to free up tons of money to sign fitz. if he doesnt want 5 or 7 million then he can play for another team. its not like we are losing a top player from a superbowl team here, we are losing a guy who had an average season for a team that just missed the playoffs, and a qb who is 33 and not a long term awnser.

well then he can play for someone else. 8 million is absolutely a fair offer, and honestly about 1 million more then id have offered. there are plenty of short term alternative to replace the short term qb he would be, not to mention we are exactly a win now team lock playoff team with or without him

It's crazy to me that it's mid-April and no deal has been struck, nor do we really get updates anymore.
