"I'm not a scientist, I'm not an expert in alcohol or alcohol measurement, I'm not the Mona Lisa Vito of the alcohol drinking world as she was with car expertise I'm just telling you what I know" it's possible for someone to have alcohol end up in their body without drinking it. I understand how unlikely it sounds and how it's never happened before in history but "I am embarrassed at the amount of time I've put into this relative to the challenge in front of us" and "I believe 100 percent that Josh Gordon followed every rule to the letter." I agree with you - the NFL shouldn't punish Josh Gordon until they have video evidence of him chugging Patron. Until then I refuse to believe he drank any alcohol. They should hire some rich buddy, buddy law firm and conduct a lengthy sham investigation before they jump to ANY conclusions here
We saw this happen to Matt Prater so it doesn't surprise me but it still baffles me. There's a difference between enjoying a drink and being an addict. There's a difference with washing down a meal with a beer vs abusing.....and there's a large difference between a glass of red or shots of liquor. Would love to see more details on this
That's all true but I know people who can/have gone a year without a sip of alcohol just so they can avoid paying a fine that is small in comparison to Gordon's massive NFL salary and opportunity. Both situations might be BS that they had to do such things but if Gordon can't bring his lazy ass to drink coffee for a year than he's just an idiot
I remember when some people wanted to trade for him. Glad they didn't pull the trigger on that one. "It's not like I'm polishing off fine wine"
That's true and you can bet if I had the potential to make 8-12 million for the next couple years I wouldn't go near alcohol. Gordon did write an open letter here that is worth reading https://medium.com/the-cauldron/an-open-letter-to-charles-barkley-co-cb5c4e64cf3 . Might have been written by his agents and it is just one side but if true that he'd abstained from alcohol until the last game of the year it does make it a lot sadder because he does seem like a guy trying to do right that just can't catch a break.
I have said this many times before and will stick to my thoughts ion this topic. The problem with troublesome NFL players (be it drugs, gangs, guns, wife beatings) is that there people were being covered for from the time they were kids. First it was boys will be boys, and then it just spirals out of control as coaches, school administrators, communities, colleges (administration and coaches again) just cover up and move along in the name of winning, money, and fame.
ESPN reported on Monday Gordon has been living with Manziel, which is another factor that could make Goodell reluctant to reinstate Gordon. Hanging around with Johnny Football when you are under the microscope, not the wisest strategy.
It's funny on here that people assume. For all we know it's from some cough medicine or something else he took. Not taking up for him just like to hear all the facts first.
