Restrooms have never been segregated by gender, they are segregated by sex. They aren't interchangeable. It takes a special kind of dishonesty to argue otherwise; the same type that would argue against guns but against gun punishment laws.
Sorry maybe I misquoted the term gender, by today's definition, I have always used the term to represent sex long before all this shit. Charlotte passed a law about public restrooms, locker rooms etc stating it was discriminatory to segregate them by biological sex and not let transgender use the one of their choice., then the NC legislator passed a bill basically reversing this .
As it should be. That doesn't even address how nonsensical it is to allow someone to choose which bathroom they prefer to use regardless of sex. If s transgender person has a right that a non-transgender person has, that would be discrimination based on gender identity. And yet advocates for this type of nonsense don't even recognize it.

If I was in the state of NC I would be pissed off because my state representatives are feeling the need to pass a law about bathroom visits in the first place. No, conservatives don't believe that there shouldn't be any relevant laws. And relevant laws does not equate to big government. This would be enforced the same way the law would be enforced if you went into a women's restroom or shower. Or are there not measures in place to regulate that? And if there aren't, why even have segregated bathrooms if the segregation isn't enforceable?

They aren't overstepping their boundaries, it's simply enforcing existing laws in which liberals are dishonestly attempting to confuse by deliberately and dishonestly trying to apply gender in situations that apply to sex. And it doesn't just apply to bathrooms it applies to public showers as well. It's convenient to say now you don't care when I disputed your position when you falsely used an issue of sex to apply to sn argument on gender. And in case you are not aware, North Carolina does indeed change the sex on birth certificates for transgender people who have "sex reassignment" surgery, so the state has the policy in place to allow people to change their sex. What they don't allow is for people to dishonestly interchange sex and gender when the very concept of transgender inherently requires that the two are different.

Penalize illegal gun ownership. Tax the gun industry to correctly account for the damage and costs that its products accrue for society. Enforce mandatory safety standards and training for all legal gun owners. Allow doctors and public health groups to speak about the reality of gun ownership. Allow the CDC to do a real survey of the damage and costs that guns, particularly handguns accrue for society. It's not a hard topic to talk about rationally. We don't allow anybody to just get behind the wheel of a semi and go rolling down the highway at high speed. We regulate and tax and train to minimize the impact of huge vehicles on public roads.
