Without a doubt. Still doesnt make it a good move. Makes it a desperate move.

How much would you bet he plays less than 10 games next year?

No, obviously not. I looked and saw no thread on it. I was surprised. Must have been started by someone I have on ignore.

That was the case. My apologies.

OMG I'd put a couple hundred down on that bet.

If I were to guess I say he goes down within the first 3-5 weeks.

It's the Jets man , would it shock you if that didnt happen?

But I will say Im still curious to see what else Mac does in addition to this move...I gotta think he wont count on Clady to be our starter for the entire 2016 season. If he does he's a fool, which might mean he's a poster here.

uh yeah I do, especially after they went through a fight to resign him, and could not, so they acquired Okung, which kind of makes Clady expendable don't you think? They tried to resign him, very hard in fact, but don't do anything like research before your next tourette's outburst...

While we are at it, how much do you bet on wrestling?

And after all that they trade him for a meaningless 5th rounder.

Cause Okung has also proven to be the model of health.

I think they probably will. Mac just doesn't want to go into the draft having to take a player at certain position. Clady was named All Pro two seasons and to the Pro Bowl 4 seasons. Only $3 million is guaranteed. If he pans out and the Jets draft a rookie, the Jets can possibly cut Breno and play the rookie at RT, or they could keep Breno as insurance in case Clady can't stay healthy and the rookie has time to hit the weight room, learn the offense and develop, and is there if Clady goes down with injury.

What I don't get is we are basically paying him the same we paid Brick,So if Brick would have stayed on for his orginal contract wouldn't it make sense just to keep Brick?

Yes because they signed Russel Okung already they didn't need him anymore, there's no room for two starting left tackles.

Only have the salary ($3 million) is guaranteed this year. The base is $6 million, and with incentives, the contract could be worth $7.5 million this season. The team has an option for a 2nd year, but would have to pay Clady a bonus of $2.5 million next February. His contract value would be $10 million, and with incentives, could escalate to $13 million.

That is the same as saying that the talent level between the 2 nd and 3rd round are the same. Huge difference. The same is said about a 5th -7th round pick

I'm seeing projections that Spriggs is moving up draft charts and is likely to go in the bottom 1/3 of the 1st round. Spriggs will probably be sitting there at #20.

I disagree. Even if the Broncos cut Clady, when would that have happened? Clady would then have been a FA and there are no guarantees the Jets would have been able to sign him, and even if so, it may have cost them a lot more.

I understand what you're saying about draft picks, but the injuries notwithstanding, Clady was a two-time All Pro and four-time Pro Bowler. It's definitely worth the risk. If Clady stays healthy and plays even close to his former level, he could hold down the position for at least 2 years and possibly 3-5 years. In that way, if there isn't an LT that the Jets really like and think is the BAP they don't have to reach or gamble on one. They could take one play him at RT for a year, and if he has a great rookie season, they could release Clady and move the rookie to LT in his 2nd year, or opt to keep Clady for another year and give the rookie another year's seasoning at RT.

Retarded comment. Im sure I wont see you on the board when Clady is hurt halfway though the year, because you havent been here at all before/during/after the season either , so keep your meaningless opinions to yourself.

Not true in any way, shape or form. Clady is a MUCH better LT than Brick can even dream about being. Clady is a 2-time All Pro and 4-time Pro Bowler. He missed 2013 and 2015. Saying the Broncos raped us is just ridiculous! They did nothing of the kind.
