    Per Brian Costello on WFAN. He said he still thinks it will be awhile before a deal gets done with Fitz and Brick retiring doesn't change anything.

    Very true, as I think 9.5M still not enough for Fitz.

    He just said he doesn't think a deal won't be done by the draft. He doesn't see a deadline right now. Training camp is probably the deadline. It's not getting done right now.

    what else would Bowles possibly say?

    I'm just imagining him turning into Eddie Murphy: "Oh my god! Brandon! We are fucked! We are so fucked! He grows a beard and has one good season and now he thinks he's Joe Montana! I won't let it happen Brandon, I won't let it happen. FUCK! The fat man in the cowboy hat keeps sayin it's all good - it ain't good! Ahhh!" Runs away screaming *

    Yeah. I doubt Macc changes tune with Fitz, esp given the lack of interest from other clubs. I still hope he gets it done by the draft though.

    9.4 mil with a chance of incentives should be enough to bring Fitz back. This 15 million number is bullshit just to get us up from 7 mil.
    No excuses to not resign Fitz after Brick's retirement unless he's truly crazy and thinks hes getting 12 mil+ which in that case he won't be suiting up for us or anybody else next season.

    Wouldn't it be funny if Fitz retired too.

    With no LT maybe it's a good idea to use Geno as cannon fodder this year after all.

    Of course that sets up the Geno apologists for Eternity tho :mad:

    J/k I have Faith Mac can find a solution for LT this year for Fitz

    Geno apologists don't need a setup, they'll find something, or make it up.

    @DanHanzus
    And I'm no Capologist, but financials now seems flexible enough to jump Fitz to $10M or so per year and be done with this lingering drama.

    Brick retiring and Clady restructuring should have no effect on our offer to Fitz. There are still ZERO teams competing with us to sign him. Use any additional space to sign other players that will help immediately and let Fitz decide if he wants to be employed or unemployed by keeping the same offer on the table.

    I really can't see Smith ever starting for this team again unless it's due to injury. It seems pretty obvious they already have a plan b with somebody else if fitz doesn't sign.

    Sources say we are offering more than thr 8 reported million now. If Fitz's still in Brock's asking price range he's bonkers. Hopefully, we reach an agreement.
