Conforto is my favorite player. He is well on his way to becoming a stud

Yeah, he's got pure hitter written all over him.

Walker is solid as all hell. I'm one person who isn't gonna miss Murph's brain locks in the field and on the bases, at all.

As am I. That was a great trade. The guy can play defense. The guy is just as good at the plate as Murphy too AND bats from both sides. I really want Collins to move him to the 2 slot and slide Wright down.

Likewise. Will always love Murph because he played hard and was a true Met, but anyone who doesn't know that Walker is an upgrade doesn't know baseball.

To think we gave up only Niese for him is pretty amazing on Sandy's part.

    d'Arnaud!...that's my boy!

I don't worry too much about the lineup. Terry likes to go L/R alternate.
Conforto would nice at 2. But they're gonna let Conforto get comfortable before they put too much on him. Imo the linup is not critical tho.

Next year when hopefully Herrera, Nimmo, and Rosario come up we'll have more typical guys for the top of the lineup.

In the meantime Wright can still run and maybe he can reinvent himself as more a contact/ on base % guy. There's gonna be a lot of mixing and matching using the whole roster also.

You can already see how wright does work the count extremely well now at the top of the lineup. It's just so frustrating seeing that 2-1 mid 90s fastball down the center get fouled back behind home plate. That's a pitch our 2 hitter should be salivating over to crush.

Yeah, he doesn't look that great. But that was tough out there today in that weather.

He's gonna need the warm weather no doubt.

I think maybe we're looking at his last season

@MarcCarig I asked TC why Conforto is platooning: "We're in a situation where we're trying to win games. This is not a time to develop players."
    o_O:confused::rolleyes:

Just realized the Mets do not have one Saturday game at 1:05 or 1:10 start. Unbelievable

I fully expect Conforto to be playing everyday by August.
By June, his hitting success will mandate giving him some starts against the lower tier lefites and once he proves successful with that, TC will have no choice.

In a way it is ridiculous, I am not 100% certain, but I am fairly confident he hit against lefties his entire college career. You do not garner all the accolades he received not playing everyday.

Tickets are over the top cheap for good seats for today's game on stubhub. Gonna take a shot, and cross my fingers that the game get's played. I don't mind the cold.

I saw the same thing. Yesterday they were through the roof and today you can't even give them away. Hopefully the weather holds up for you!

Smart to skip deGrom this early in the year with the cold and average schedule.

I hate these 30-40 degree games in April. Cant every team open the first month of the year in Texas, Cali, Arizona and Florida?

Hopefully it's just skipping a start, but just remember Matz was out two months with a lat strain. This could still end up being a very big deal.

It sure didn't take long for the fans to get over their euphoria about Cespedes signing, did it?

It's def worrisome because it's supposedly been a lingering issue for him.

But the timing of it could be worse if this started up a few months from now. As important as deGrom is, I would almost rather him miss 2 weeks to a month now if he means him coming back at 100 percent.

The staff can withstand that type of loss

The everyday lineup can't so Cespy needs to wake it up ASAP.

Losing 2 of 3 to the Phillies is disgraceful. They better pull this one out
