I followed you until the above... Geno is not one of the only good players on the team and definitely on that day. He made stupid unforced choices that show his limited football IQ. You cant defend his choices. I am sorry people thinking he should start should look at his tats and his last full season. Oh I know you will find excuses but those games are his true self. he is not the guy who had a perfect game against miami nor is he the guy who threw a prefect ) against the bills. He is a below average qb because of his decision making, and if you think having better receivers is going to make him a better decision make you are highly mistaken. He is still going to make the same crappy choices that will hurt the team. Oh maybe one of the receivers will bail him out 2 or three times a game but those choices are still there

Sounds like you just described Fitz also.

You can't fix stupid. You can prop Geno up, you can surround him with more talent and you can install a system and game plan to hide his flaws, but you can't fix his biggest issue. He's a physically talented low football IQ quarterback.

Give me a less talented but mentally smarter QB.

Maybe if the defense, RBs, and head coach didn't suck the other three quarters, it wouldn't have mattered.

Geno Smith prior to the NFL draft:
budding genius lacks the smarts (let alone the courtesy) to stop texting during pre-draft interviews by NFL scouts - 1st impressions anyone?

Geno Smith at the NFL draft:
budding genius storms out of Radio City's Green Room (and impulsively fires agent) like a petulent 12 year old because ALL teams passed on him in the 1st round - good follow up impression.

    Geno Smith as a rookie:
not to be outdone by Nacho dancing in the buff, Jets' budding genius has cockshot photo released - Jets confident they've found themselves a winner.

Geno Smith in his 2nd season:
budding genius further demonstrates leadership qualities by missing team meetings then claiming time zone confusion - helloo Canton.

Geno Smith in his 3rd season:
budding genius further solidifies his leadership role on the team by getting his lights punched out, his jaw broken and losing whatever chance of starting over a $600 squabble - Geno Einstein.

Bah. Given the cap situation and Fitz' demonstrated shortcomings I'm fine with rolling with Geno this year rather than open up the vault for Fitz. I'd rather see what he can do with the current cast.

Not really that optimistic he can do much, but I don't think anyone thinks Fitz is any kind of answer. And if doesn't want to be paid accordingly, let's see what Geno can do with some talent on offense.

Agreed, no way they should open up the vault for Fitz either, the guy showed his ceiling last year and is not the long term answer. But as for Smith, that MNF game at Atlanta with the same lack of weapons was offset all too often by one head scratcher after another. I just don't think he has the emotional makeup to succeed on a consistent basis even if Fitz' rediculous $10M+ demands end up with the Jets having no other alternative.

I'm shocked he's still on the team. I thought he would've been one of the first cuts this offseason.

It's not only unbelievable that he's still on the roster but that the Jets are playing hardball with Fitzpatrick & are considering the possibility of starting this hot mess of a QB.

It's as if the Oakland destruction which cost us a playoff berth last season never happened.

No no no really the switch is going to go on for Geno in 2016 no really

No one ever accused LT of being smart.

There are dumb fans who would feel better about a dumb player hopefully succeeding because it will make them feel better about themselves.

I want to win. Not feel empathy for dumb fans.

i don't see how that picture shows me he doesn't know what he is talking about.
and to get this straight, if you think geno can play better than we have seen so far, yu are a dumb fan that wants to feel better about themselves?
is that where this thread has gone now?

I don't think LT (i) is smart or (ii) has any personal opinion other than a view from afar to have an any more insight worthy that any other Jet fan has that has seen Geno over the past 3 year (and 4 years of college).

And I'm not suggesting fans are dumb for hoping Geno can improve--although I pity them.

Can I get the English version please?

Fitzpatrick threw THREE God damn interceptions. Geno threw one in his single game this year. Fitz completed 43% of his passes to Geno's 64%. Fitz threw for only 181 yards to Geno's 265.

But go ahead saying it's the same thing?

Comparing Fitz's worst game to Geno's only game isn't a good way to make a point.

Whoa whoa who. You mentioned that everyone OTHER than Geno fucked up that game--that Geno was great that game and everyone else sucked. And folks have pointed out that no he actually sucked that game. But in YOUR mind everyone ELSE fucked up.

Same goes for Fitz in the Buffalo game. We ALL admit Fitz wasn't good but that EVERY other aspect of the team sucked as well.

You just can't accept that Geno sucked that game.

For a Genobot, that's all they have.

What about the 5 games leading up to that game? AFC Offensive Player of the week twice, helped Marshall to be AFC offensive player of the week once.

Was great down the stretch until the entire team imploded against Buff and for once he couldn't bail them out.

The difference is Geno played well MOST of the Oakland game. Playing like shit for a few series is different from playing like shit EVERY series.

Quick question. If you hate the Jets so much, why do you post here?
