someone on another thread mentioned rumors about Mo and the Cowboys so it got me thinking. If the Jets went up to #4, who do you take?
I'd only do that if it was to get Goff. He's possibly the only franchise QB in this draft. even if the Browns pass on him, this is still highly unrealistic. Cowboys need a QB almost as bad as we do.
Air Raid QB without the very high completion percentages that tend to come with running that offense. I'd put him in the 11-15 zone as a value in this draft. You can't spend the 4 pick on that with the talent that will be out there.
It may be the unpopular, un-sexy pick, but I'd say Tunsil. If we can build back up a dominant O-line, while saving $9 mil by cutting Brick after the fact, I'd be for it. I'm not exactly sold by any QB in this draft and a stalwort LT is hard to find. Considering he is even available at 4
If Tunsil fell to the 4 it would be like Williams dropping last year. He's going to go #1 to the Titans to protect Mariota's blindside unless somebody trades up for the pick for a QB.
You only go up that high if you love a QB. I'm not super high on any of the QBs but each of the top 2 have the potential and I'm fairly confident in Gailey to be able to get it out of them.
I totally agree, it makes too much sense for the Titans for grab him to protect Mariotta. To me, it was as you said, a unforseen event that would have me excited. IF this scenario were possible
Well I would make that trade if Tunsil was guaranteed to be available at 4. Out of all the top prospects though I see virtually no chance he makes it to 4. If(big if) Titans pass on him, Chargers would take a nanosecond to hand the card in.
I love me some Miles Jack but if the other three teams were dumb enough to pass on Tunsil we have our starting LT for the next decade.
I'd be wondering how much did we give up other then Mo. Because Mo isn't getting you the #4 pick in the draft. But I would be a kid in the candy store if we could get Goff, Jack or Tunsil.
Cimini actually had an interesting article in talking to the local beat writers of each team in the league. Only 4 writers thought the team they covered would have much interest and one of them(Eagles) didn't make any sense to me. Out of the 4, the Bears jump out as a logical fit.
let's assume the bears are interested, what do you think fair compensation would be? Bears #11 overall for Mo straight up? I'd love this trade but dont see it happening Bears #11 for Mo and our #20? I think we're giving too much
I'm not a huge fan of Goff but fans need to come to the realization that QBs will now and forever be overdrafted as well as overpaid. If a QB is worthy of getting picked top 15, then more likely than not said QB is worthy of getting drafted top 5 in the draft. That's just the world we live in. An above average QB that will secure the position for a decade is worth more than an elite talent at any other position.
I think for 11 would be a fair trade. I'm also pretty sure if any team was willing to give a 1st Mo would've been dealt by now. My guess is it comes down to how desperate the Jets become to move him and if it's completely desperate it will be a deal similar to the Pats trade of Jones but maybe even less since Mos contract needs to be dealt with immediately.
