Lynch and Hackenberg coming in for visits. I hope we draft a QB....at any point. Sign Fitz and rid ourselves of gee-no...asap
First off you're an idiot. Had to get that out before I play along. If you have a young QB that has shown flashes of being a potential franchise QB, you surround him with talent. Another common practice is to the same if you've invested a lot (i.e., high value pick, trade compensation, large rookie contract…etc.). Neither of those apply to Geno. He hasn't shown glimpses of being a franchise caliber QB worthy of building round nor was a lot invested in him. He's already been handed 2 virtually competition free seasons and was about to be handed an unprecedented 3rd had not by the grace of the football gods he failed to repay IK his money. The Jets/NFL do not owe Geno anything.
I was here before Geno but looking at how things are turning out and how irrationally angry you get at the thought of him playing here, you'll be gone well before I am. Good riddance. Go root for Rex. Geno threw a perfect game in 2014. That's a good glimpse of franchise caliber QB talent. In fact, looking at the list of QBs to throw perfect games, most who were drafted in the first 2 rounds appear to have pretty great careers. The same is true of QBs who post perfect games and 0.0 QB rating games in their careers. And while you're right the NFL/Jets don't owe Geno a thing, he'll get his chance. Bowles pretty much said so in his last interview.
He was the presumptive starter last year until he got his chin tapped. So 4th chance is correct. If Geno gets this 4th chance, he will be the luckiest 2nd round QB and the Jets one of the dumbest franchises of all time.
Geno was horrible his rookie year and got a second chance. He was horrible his second year and got a third chance. And he was a moron last year so this would be his fourth chance if the Jets give it to him.
Stop Genobot, you're not a Jet fan. Me on the other hand, I've been a Jet fan since 1969. I'll be here LONG after you've followed Geno out the door. Watching shitty QBs makes me angry, it apparently makes you passively stupid. And who the fuck is Rex? Fixed your post. _
He's 2 years playing football and would have had his 3rd if not for politics and injury. I dont consider missing meetings or getting into fights football chances. And like I explained earlier, Geno gets chances because of circumstance, upside and talent, not by "luck".
You said Jets should move from Geno if he stinks, but you left yourself an escape clause: if he sticks and his WRs are healthy. So, if one of them is not healthy, ex Decker has a cough, Jets shouldn't move from Geno?
Ok... I don't think Geno is any good, but I wouldn't mind giving him a 2 games stretch to see if he learned anything. If nothing else to show Petty how NOT to play. That said, your post is absolutely ridiculous. "3rd if not for politics and injury" what politics? Are you suggesting starting Fitz was a "like me" move by Bowles? Or that he should've sit a QB who just won him a couple of games just so that moron who can't keep his promises can start? "I dont consider missing meetings or getting into fights football chances. " Well, that's very generous of you. Why the hell not?! discipline and leadership are not qualities you'd like to see in your QB? "Geno gets chances because of circumstance..." You got that right. Lack of talent at QB is the only reason why he gets chances. With any other team QB who shits the bed on and off the field as often as Geno would be glued to the bench and used as practice dummy for defensive linemen.
Missing meetings, politics, getting into fights, self induced injury not "football chances"? Hahahaaaa GTFO. If you want to be the QB of a franchise, the face of a franchise, you can't be a douchebag. Maybe we should sign Johnny Football? He didn't screw up his "football chances". _
You *think* Manziel was cut because of his off-the-field issues but the truth is that Manziel sucked in the same system McCown put up top 10 numbers in so he obviously lacked some talent. McCown wouldn't have put up the same numbers with Cumberland and Kerley. Better players get more leeway in terms of off the field issues.
