i didnt miss the rest of his games, were he played really well. i didnt miss fitz last game either. hoyer is really our best option. he makes 5 million, and is basically a younger version of what we did to get fitz last year. hoyer was better with the texans last year the fitz was the prior year. he is a great stop gap.
Where I'm i blaming the fan base. I'm just stating a fact. Just go look at some threads started here. One off top of my head.... Devin Smith is Mac only mistake or something like that.
What funny me it not last game Fitz it whrt amnt throw pick 2 yere hawm;, so what be no mony sammnt youuf. _
The OP is not a Jet fan, he is a Genobot and 90% of his posts are whining about Geno and the shot he never got and the other 10% are about why Fitz, Petty and every other QB are not worthy. _
I'm officially sick of your bullshit. You are a one trick pony who's one trick sucks. Find another forum. Please please....may I suggest Jaredisinnocent.com
I'd much rather see Geno or Petty than Hoyer or McCown... We have 2 players with upside and you guys want two guys that have been proven to suck. McCown had oneeee goood year, years ago... big deal. Hoyer had a solid 6 games total in cleveland... big deal.
nah you definitely didn't see that playoff game because Hoyer had no freaking idea what he was doing out there, he threw 4 INTs and the majority of those picks were far worse then what Fitz did in that Bills game. Do you remember what Hopkins said about Hoyer before halftime? "get that motherfucker out of the game" that's exactly what Hopkins said about Hoyer who is NOT a great stop-gap. Fitz a far better leader, his teammates play much harder for him in comparison to Hoyer. Hoyer wouldn't beat Geno Smith in a competition in my opinion.
geno has 0 upside. he is the worst qb in the league. petty has upside, but he is raw. if you want to sort of give him a trial by fire, im ok with that, but the results would likely be poor form a team win/loss standpoint, and many fans are not willing to live through that. id be ok with it hoyer has shown 1000 times more ability then geno. and while he is older, he hasnt had any more playing time/opportunity. and his succes shas been much greater the anything geno has done. geno should not be considered unless an option like hoyer/mccown isnt available for reasonable compensaiton and the team doesnt want to throw petty to the wolves while still a ways away developmentally
its 1 game. 1 game does not undo everything he accomplished during the season. was his game worse then fitz? sure. but fitz didnt have the chance to get embarassed by the chiefs defense. he was too busy throwing away the game in week 17 to prevent that. hoyer would easily win the job over geno. because he is a much better player, who showed last season he can start in this league. Hoyer is on the same level as fitz, and would likely match or surpass his performance last season. hoyer is not great, neither is fitz. both are light years ahead of geno. 1 game sample sizes are meaningless.
How many times was Hoyer benched last season due to inept play? He was nothing more then a product of Bill O'Brien's great offensive philosophy and getting the ball to Hopkins. Fitz had success under 2 different coordinators. Hoyer has been good with 1 coordinator and that's O'Brien. I don't think Hoyer is better then Geno Smith to be honest, it would be a good competition. I don't even like Geno Smith. 1 game sample size isn't meaningless, especially if it's a game that should've been won by Houston and it's only the biggest game of Hoyer's career and he folded like a tin hat.
I just don't understand why 2-3 "Jet fans" continue to want to see GeNo!? The consistent argument is that he is young and still learning. I ask these fans, At what point in time have you seen enough to move on? For me just on the field, the consisten lack of pre snap understanding leads to post snap issues. He continually makes bad decisions (running backwards after his 1st read isn't there or forcing a throw to his read). This leads to turnovers and 3rd and long situations where the defense can tee off on him. Watch the tape, it's consistent and very frustrating as a JETS fan to watch. He is also obviously not a leader of men and not respected by the majority of his teammates. You can see it in his interactions on the sidelines. Body language is huge. I've never questioned his arm talent or his ability to tuck and run. But in the NFL unlike college, the intangibles at the QB position (per snap reads, taking what the D is giving you, and leading men) are almost more important than the raw ability. That's why a guy like Fitz or Pennington will always have more opportunities then a guy like Geno or Jeff Fuckimg George ( a guy who probably had the best ability oiside of Dan Marino I'v ever seen; but he was a pure cunt).
Fans will continue to think Geno had a raw deal here. 2 years for an under developed QB with no true support, with bad coaching, and yes they have a point but his locker room presence leaves much to be desired, so does Geno truly put in the work to be great? I don't know. Just goes to show, physical talent and potential can only get you so far in the NFL. If you don't have the brain and the fundamentals down before entering the NFL, chances of success are extremely low. Geno absolutely, one of the more frustrating QBs to watch in some time. 100x more frustrating then Sanchez.
