There are plenty of smart millionaires in the world who will never become billionaires. Stop pretending like it's a simple thing to turn a million into a billion.
Fitz is in the audience at Radio City watching the Mike & The Mad Dog Reunion, listening to Russo's pleas to sign the contract. Good stuff.
With all do respect the market has pegged him at that range. There are no takers at 12-14 let alone the 16m what I read somewhere the other day he was his asking for and which he has NOT reduced his demand. Frankly, he is not starter he is a journeyman OB who got luck to be in a system with WR talent that utilized his "limited" skill set. If you bother to look at all his stats you would see he is a middle of the road QB... when all you have is smith he looks like a bonfire starter. Personally I wanted him back but not at 9, 10, 11, etc. he is simply not worth it IMHO.
So Dubya makes the Harvard Fail list as well? [It's a rather illustrious list, for all we can tell, with the likes of Ted Cruz and whatnot. ]
denver, the rams, my understanding is he was asking for 16-18.. Also the jets.. I am perfectly willing to admit i could be wrong.. But fitz wont play for a penny under 12 mil a year next year. He could make 5-6 as a backup.. Why the hell would he want to start for 7 for the jets.
No way Denver offers that kind of money. Fitz isn't a good fit for Kubiak's system, and their cap situation is as bad as ours. We would lost Fitz to Denver if they offer him something similar to us and he decides he'd rather play there. As for the Rams, they already have Case Keenum, Nick Foles, and Sean Mannion on the roster. Once again, Fitz is a bad system fit, plus the Rams have a high enough pick that they could make a play for Goff or Wentz. Also, unlike Denver, if they were interested in Fitz, they would have made him an offer by now. I'd like to think that Fitz would rather start for 7 million than be a backup for 5-6 million, but you never know I guess. There's also the possibility that he might retire rather than risk his body anymore.
Got a strange hunch that Fitz has pretty much agreed to return to the Jets and they are just trying to find a taker for Mo Wilk and have D'Brick take another pay cut or hit the highway. Either that or he retires after having the best season of his career. Just a feeling.
If you start for a nfl season as a qb for a nfl team and put up his numbers you are a starter. He has been asking for 16-18m a year which is basically what you said. He will get paid 12-14.... Most likely by denver or the jets. We will see what happens.. But when injuries start racking up like they always do.. Fitz will be able to find a job for the 7mil the jets are offering him now. He has no reason to entertain our offer. Do you really thing starting geno isnt a bluff? If the jets start geno and have a losing season again.. Do you think the fanbase is gonna understand their hardline stance over 3-5 mil a year? Especially since they are paying revis 17mil?
