That is how I viewed it. I understand why Cleveland wanted to sign him, but I don't know why he would unless he just wasn't getting interest from any other team (which I don't believe).

Possibly he just wants to be the starter and that is assured in Cleveland, but I have a feeling he will be joining Tebow in the NFL unemployment line within 2 years.

RG3 off to the graveyard, I wish him well in his eternal demise in the factory of sadness

damn. would've liked to have seen what he could do here. Cleveland is a poor spot for anyone to go

Go trade Mo and the 20 for clevelands #2 and draft Wentz

Edit - all pending what happens with Fitzy and how much he wants

I dont like Wentz and dont think he'll be good in the pros so maybe I'm letting my bias in here but why would Cleveland accept that trade? Going from 20 up to number 2 is a long ways. It would take a lot more than Wilkerson I would think

    Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet: The #Browns signed RGIII to a 2-year deal worth $15M, source said. He gets 6.75M guaranteed. Large investment.

Because the Browns are really bad and more than a few pieces away. Getting an all pro player and having a first round pick is better than just getting a player at number 2. I don't think they should take a qb at 2 now that they signed RG3

That's a lot of money. Glad Mac didn't ink RG3 to that deal.

Offtopic: Outside of Joe Thomas, does Cleveland have a serviceable offensive line?

This makes our decision a little easier.

And what would that be, Smith or Petty?

Well, it eliminated an option. I'd roll with Petty, get him in the game while we have talent to help him grow. Kinda like Sanchez his first two years.

That doesn't seem too unreasonable, unless he goes down with a knee injury in Week 1.

It could just be smoke and mirrors, but Cleveland has stated they still plan to draft a QB with their first round pick. Are they going to let him compete with RG3 for the job? RG3's salary makes me think he will be the designated starter.

A lot of money? Fitz is asking and several have gotten more than double that amount. How much did you think he would sign for?
