What do you guys think? I see a lot of attention being given to the elimination of chop blocks and the automatic ejection after two personal fouls; but I personally think the biggest/weirdest change is making touchbacks start at the 25 yard line, not a fan of that one.

I hate the multiple personal foul rule. I mean nowadays you get a PF if you nick a receiver going over the middle. A defensive back can get thrown out of a game for two very benign plays. Dumb rule. This isn't stupid soccer with it's red cards.

I hope touchbacks starting at the 25 result in more kick returns due to teams kicking it short. Otherwise I think it's also a sneaky way to keep inflating scoring by giving teams an extra 5 yards. I would definitely kick short all the time and hope you can pin teams under the 25

no chop blocks at all? wow I am surprised to see that. although I am a big fan of protecting players knees and these past few years knees have become the go to area with the head taken out of the game.

The ball at the 25 is to discourage players from running it back. This is the second time in a few years they made a rule with that purpose. The first was when they moved up where the kicker was kicking from so he's more likely to kick it out the back of the end zone. But you're right, some strategic kick offs could be fun.

Not all personal fouls get a player ejected. "Certain types of unsportsmanlike conduct fouls”.

Just to be clear, knees are still free game. A chop block is when one player engages and his teammate takes out the knees. If there's no engagement then it's still ok if I'm not mistaken.

Burfict's hit was an "unnecessary roughness" call not unsportmanlike. Shazier's hit - they "overlooked"..

This addition does nothing but made the game more shady. With our luck there wont be a single instance of a 2 unsportsmanlike ejection until the Jets are in a wild card playoff game and its our best player

I don't see geno smith commiting an unsportsmanlike conduct call.

Oh my god I can't believe I wrote that with a straight face. It wasn't easy.

edit: i was wrong on this.

It's only a matter of time before all NFL games resemble the pro-bowl and we have a nation full of whiney pussies who live in safe spaces.

It's an effort to reduce returns even more. I think they want to eliminate the KO eventually and just give teams the ball at the 20.

I think this change will backfire on them. I see teams trying to kick off high inside the 5 ouside the hashes forcing more returns. Also could see more pooch kicks.

I mean for most of these rule changes the alternative is the prospect of football being completely eliminated so there's not much I can say against them

We will see flag football in our lifetime in the NFL.

Rugby will replace the NFL just like MMA replaced boxing.

TN, I liked when they experimented with the 25 yard line making it a 42 yard XP
