Just for the record, RB's have the lowest snap counts in today's NFL of any offensive player outside of FB's. There are 48 WR's that averaged at least 67% of snaps , 24 of whom were 80% or more of snaps There were 14 TE's that took at least 67% of snaps...compared to only 1 RB who took at least 67% of snaps, next most of any RB's was DeAngelo Williams at 65%. Quite frankly the RB position is the least valuable piece on the field, in terms of draft return or free agent return, of any player on the offensive squad. You're better off building an elite offensive line and putting an average Joe at RB because the O-line will be on the field a whole lot more than the RB will be.
and now that I've caught up on today's free agency stuff, just getting rolling today, the whole RB issue with the departure of Ivory has been resolved, at least for the next year or two with Forte.
I'm just going to post this here, it's not a serious draft, I was just bored and messing around. A couple of things, this is by far the best draft I've ever had in terms of talent. It's also probably the most unrealistic draft. 1) No way Wentz gets down to #20...not going to happen...nope...well unless he gets busted for drugs or DUI or something...like I said, aint gonna happen. 2) Way too many draft picks, like I said I was just goofing around. Again, THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS DRAFT...It's just a draft where so many players fell that It just got sick, which is part of why I wound up with so many picks, I kept seeing players who fell and saying TOO MUCH VALUE!!! The Trades, I traded a future first and future 4th for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th. (for some reason it show's two first, but it was a 1st and 4th) The second trade is actually a Mo to Oakland deal (in my head) which netted a 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 7th from the Raiders..(probably would have to trade a little more) the third trade was a future 2nd for 3rd, 4th and 6th. First, If I did this with no trades except the Mo to Oakland deal the draft would have come out as Wentz Noah Spence (from Mo Deal) Robert Nkemdiche Jaylon Smith Cravens if he was still on the board otherwise Pharoh Cooper (from mo Deal) DJ Reader Jerell Adams (from Mo Deal) Fabian Moreau (from Mo Deal Hackett. 20: R1P20 QB CARSON WENTZ ,NORTH DAKOTA STATE Reason is self explanatory but as stated in real draft no way he reaches this point. 32: R2P1 CB MACKENSIE ALEXANDER CLEMSON, Reason, top 15 talent at CB and perhaps best cover corner he's the reason I traded a future first. That said, no way he gets out of the first round come the real draft. 44: R2P13 OLB NOAH SPENCE EASTERN KENTUCKY, Obtained in the MO Deal to Oakland. Reason one of the top pass rushers in the draft, but off field Concerns could drop him in the draft. 80% likely he doesn't get out of the first, but there is a chance he could slide this far down, though not a very big chance. 51: R2P20 DT ROBERT NKEMDICHE OLE MISS, Reason. Mo's Replacement at DE. A first round talent here is a value, he could fall out of the first but I don't know if he falls this far in the real draft. 64: R3P1 RB DERRICK HENRY ALABAMA, I wasn't going to trade again, but with Henry on the board I decided he was worth a future 2nd, if Nkemdiche hadn't been on the board at #20 Henry would have gone there. There is a chance he could go as late as the top of the third, but I think he really goes sometime in the 2nd. 65: R3P2 S VONN BELL OHIO STATE, pick is from the Alexander deal. I was surprised he was still on the board, Safety wasn't one of my focuses but the value was just too good, he's a borderline 1st rounder in my opinion but as a safety he could fall to the 3rd. 83: R3P20 OLB SU'A CRAVENS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA --reason. Team needs speed. I debated taking Jaylon Smith Here and without the trades I probably would. Slide him inside or opposite of Spence on the Outside. Personally I think he's gone top of the third at the latest. He is something that most of this draft has been focused on, high motor guys. 100: R4P1 OLB JAYLON SMITH NOTRE DAME He could actually be available here, depending on him medical reports. Top 10 talent with a high risk factor due to the knee. 114: R4P15 OT JERALD HAWKINS LSU The First project pick. Hawkins has the tools to be a LT but is raw. Worst case scenario he's a RT, best case He's a LT. 115: R4P16 WR PHAROH COOPER SOUTH CAROLINA....I'd be surprised if he's here still, but he was so I took him That said, in the 4th he'd be a steal. 119: R4P20 OT LE'RAVEN CLARK TEXAS TECH, I actually like him better than Hawkins in the long term, I didn't see him when I drafted Hawkins. Again Best case LT worst case RT. But he's a project 158: R5P18 WR LEONTE CARROO RUTGERS, No way he drops this low, unless he has more off field issues before draft. 177: R6P1 DT D.J. READER CLEMSON I have no feel for where he goes, I've seen him rated as high as the 3rd and as low as the 7th a Pure 3-4 NT he's someone I really like for that role. 194: R6P18 TE JERELL ADAMS SOUTH CAROLINA --Another guy I've rated as high as the third and as low as the 7th. Personally I grade him out in the 3-4th round, in the 6th he'd be a steal. 235: R7P13 CB FABIAN MOREAU UCLA--Fabian if he hadn't gotten injured would probably be a round 3-4 guy. Here hes'a value and worth the risk, though he's dropped off of a lot of boards, but with so many picks he'd be worth a risk. 242: R7P20 P TOM HACKETT UTAH---pjets need a punter, nuff said. Again, this isn't serious, it's just a draft where I got a lot of players I really love in a totally absurd draft. If you want to talk about the individual players talent and why I like them I'll talk about that. I'll talk about the highest I'd draft them, but not about where they were selected in this draft. But I won't get in to discussions about how silly the draft is, because it is silly...it's absurd. Though I will ask, if you were offered the Raiders package would you trade mo if you knew Spence and Nkemdiche were on the board to be taken? or similar players?
Dude, did you go from 3 ol with your first 4 picks in your first draft to 2 ol "project" picks in mid/late rounds in this one? I wish you'd post the link, I like seeing who people pass on. Re the Raiders: I think that package falls a little short. I don't really feel that comfortable with two 2s either but that's as low as I'd go. And I'm not convinced Mac drafts guys with questionable character/drug history. I think at least 2 of last years picks have exceptionally strong characters (Maudlin and Williams). Ps. Why don't you take a couple teams on the board mock so we can get it started
