Touche. Good for New York state to have this TAP program. How many other states have a program like this? Also as I stated the free higher education is benefiting mostly the middle class who would not be eligible for TAP or PELL
BS -- My daughter goes to an Ivy League school, all of them and schools like Duke. Stanford etc. have Need Based Financial Aid, and there admission policies are "need blind". I am a school teacher, middle class with 4 kids, and my daughter is getting a free ride while another is getting 95% paid when combined with her athletic scholarship. Also, as other have stated -- we have free K-12 education, As a teacher I can tell you that the large % of students do not give shit and are simply put no effort into their education. Therefore they do not belong in college, if they put the work in and can't afford, the opportunity will be there. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink"
Maybe a nice analogy would help you out. Imagine the United States is a football team in a League (world economy). Most teams want to be competitive as possible. To be competitive they give all their players as many advantages as they can. They provide a free weight room (higher education), free nutritional counseling (health care) because they want their players (US citizens) to compete (be able to work) at their highest level. There will always be your JJ Watt (naturally gifted people that work their ass off) and Collin Kapernicks(Talented people that are lazy and don't maximize their potential). You'll have your Danny Amendolas (people that dont come from much but find success from hard work and dedication as well as your Geno Smiths (talentless people that are also lazy). You'll always have those different types of people no mater what the team does or doesn't do. A successful team wants to succeed and is willing to give it's players whatever advantages it can to do so. I know as Jets fans talking about a successful team might be a little confusing but I think you get the point.
You thought this terrible analogy was worth posting twice? Jesus Christ. I don't know what's worse, the fact that you came up with it to begin with or that you thought it was so clever it was worth repeating. A bit of advice, stay out of the analogy business.
Lots of parents don't give a shit either during the free K-12 days as well. They deserve blame as well.
Absolutely! -- As a teacher I can tell you there is a direct and quite evident connection to the level of parental involvement and attitude toward education to student success. While there are obvious exceptions, most of the students who have little to no support at home do not care or do well. The general consensus is to blame teachers, schools, education policies etc. for the state of the U.S. education system when in reality 95% of the blame needs to go to the parents and the downfall of the american family institution.
Damn. I knew you wouldn't understand an analogy involving building a successful team. As far as I know there's no analogy business but maybe when more people are able to get access to higher education some clever lad will build an analogy empire.
The KKK leader who says he backs Hillary Clinton For some reason I don't think this will get even 1% of attention that David Duke's "endorsement" of Trump did....
^ You guys have trouble with analogies. Trump pretended he didn't know who David Duke is. HRC will not play that game.
anytime you can find a KKK Holocaust denier to back Hillary Clinton because she's in with the Bush family and will reinstate everything the Klan stands for, I think it calls for a beer! My God, did you read the entire story? I wonder how much cash the Trump campaign paid this guy. His story makes no sense at all if read all the way thru. Either he's crazy or got paid really well.
Since Today is Batshit Crazy Day! She likes it... She loves it... She wants some more of it.... Bears an eerie resemblance to Blinky Carson doesn't she...
Right. And at the same time you'd never think that David Duke got paid as well, speaking of being biased
Well now.. Duke didn't come with some crazy story about Hillary being a closet Republican now did he? Duke backs Trump because he believes in what Trump is about. The guy in your example is peddling some far fetched conspiracy theory. Could they both have been paid off? Perhaps but which is more likely given the evidence so far? At least Duke is believable. This other guy? Really now... Might as well dress up as Bigfoot and put a Hillary button on his chest. What's lacking here is common sense..
More from Batshit Crazy Land: Kanye West endorses Donald Trump! http://pagesix.com/2016/03/10/kanye-west-supports-donald-trump/ Now I ask you... does it get any better than this?
That totally depends on one's interpretation of "Republican." If we talk about someone like Ted Cruz, then the difference between Hillary and him is like night and day. But if we look at John Kasich and Hillary, they are not that different really. I don't know what Duke believes in but if his beliefs match the KKK's ideology, then Trump never said anything along those lines.
