And if Fitz leaves when RG3 is no longer available, then what?

Reminds me of when Tanny was chasing what's-his-name CB that ended up busting in Philli.

Just because he left without a deal doesn't mean we didn't make him an offer.

While RGIII may be an intriguing option for some, and I did think it was an interesting one.....the more I think about it the less appealing it becomes.

This guy was a problem in Washington for some reason. I didn't follow the story much.

If anything we had great team chemistry last year. It would be a shame to lose that.

That's the biggest reason I'd regret losing Fitz. He may not have played great, but I believe he made others play above their norm.

    Hard to replace that.

Pretty much. Brandon Marshall didn't sound that excited about him either.

His blue collar style of play absolutely rubs off on the rest of the team. The way the receiving core talked about him going back and forth with game footage really makes a statement about the guys drive to win. Then add in the fact he is open to using his body as a battering ram. Youre not going to get that out of an RG3.

Then you go with Geno who has just about as much of a shot at success with this roster and offense as RG3 does.

I don't want this guy on our team.

I'm not sure how I feel about signing RG3. I would certainly prefer Fitz but I'm not so sure that will happen. That leaves us with Geno or RG3, Hoyer or some other castoff. I gotta believe that RG3s price will go up of Fitz stubbornly signs elsewhere as a backup or retires. If the coaches believe Geno can do it then let's move on & spend that QB budget elsewhere. Otherwise they need to sign RG3 and move on.

If the Jets were really impressed they wouldn't have let him leave the building without at least making an offer.

This is all posturing IMO. Fitz is the guy they want to sign, but on their terms, not his.

A deal and a offer are different things, if Schefter is saying the Jets like RG3, they most likely do, since he is usally right 99% of the time

Oh really? A deal and an offer are different things? Thanks for clarifying.

It would be kind of dumb for RG3 to accept a deal right now. He has made 1 visit and it was to a team that is still trying to resign a guy that would start over him. Doesn't make sense for either team to sign the dotted line until Fitz makes a decision.

Do you ever see anyone saying "insert team" has made a deal to "insert player" lets see if he signs, they use a deal if a player signs a dotted line or has came to an agreement. An offer is when "insert team" has made an offer to "insert player", player still thinking it over

    You want beef?

Yes - you hear about teams making offers to free agents all the time.

I would be curious to see if Geno can do good with all the weapons, but chances of bolder being true are questionable. I do not think this is a win-now fight for SB team, IMO this is a rebuilding with upside team and so I'd not mind figuring out if Geno really done or if he maybe matured and learned something.

However most believe this is a win now team. If this is the case, there are too many maybes with Geno to just put him in.

This is most definitely a win-now team. Our best WR is turning 32. Our top RB is 30. Our best LB is 32. Our best CB is turning 32. The QB our front office has put a priority on is 33. Our two best linemen are 32. The only spot we have youth at is the D-Line.

How exactly are were rebuilding with upside? Leonard Williams, Marcus Williams, Mauldin and Devin Smith are the only names that come to mind.
