Not really. I love my 21 year old Russians after a disappointing Jets game. But if free college will lead to no strip clubs, why didn't I see even 1 American stripper in Northern New Jersey in the last 10 years?

Could be. Ahh these asshole Democrats. They want basic human rights for every American but they are fucking communists. Education is a luxury like a car. Health care is also a luxury just so you know. Most European countries got it all wrong. Ugh. Vote for Trump and win win win.

PS: I am fat. I will make a good soap.

Education should be free. Americans are ridiculously poorly educated on the whole.

Education is free. K-12. Many take it for granted and don't become educated. Many simply aren't suited for higher education.

What does spending a bunch of money to educate a bunch of dopes that never cared to or couldn't learn shit in K-12 get us? Probably a watered down, shitty version of college that doesn't hurt anyone's feelings with class work that's too difficult.

:) Education is indeed free. It's totally free K-12. If you do really really well there, you can even get into Harvard also for free. If you don't do so well, there are plenty of public colleges that are way less expensive than those $60K/year private institutions. A typical CUNY school, for instance, is a bit over $6K/year for NYS residents. If you're from a low income family and can't afford that, there's this thing called financial aid. It's not a loan that you have to repay, it's more like welfare for low income students. So, you can attend a public school for free and they will even give you money every semester. The bottom line is if one wants to achieve something in this country, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. All this "underprivileged" BS is nothing but a lame excuse for lazy people.

I hate to nitpic (jk i really love it) but the cost of cuny per annum is $6400 on a Pell Grant is $5800. Still need to buy books (and food and a place to stay) so grants may come really close to paying for school but there's certainly no free school and giving you money every semester. So if rich people can afford school and poor people can get grants then the people that would benefit the most from free higher education are the middle class? Damn medium privileged mostly white people.

is the suggestion that mostly white people would benifit from free education supposed to make people want it more? I don't get the reason for bringing up skin color here.

Maybe a nice analogy would help you out.

Imagine the United States is a football team in a League (world economy). Most teams want to be competitive as possible. To be competitive they give all their players as many advantages as they can. They provide a free weight room (higher education), free nutritional counseling (health care) because they want their players (US citizens) to compete (be able to work) at their highest level. There will always be your JJ Watt (naturally gifted people that work their ass off) and Collin Kapernicks(Talented people that are lazy and don't maximize their potential). You'll have your Danny Amendolas (people that dont come from much but find success from hard work and dedication as well as your Geno Smiths (talentless people that are also lazy).

You'll always have those different types of people no mater what the team does or doesn't do. A successful team wants to succeed and is willing to give it's players whatever advantages it can to do so. I know as Jets fans talking about a successful team might be a little confusing but I think you get the point. ;)

It was adding a touch of levity. People usually complain about the lazy poor or the corrupt rich people. Usually the poor are thought of as minorities and the rich are thought of as old white men. No one ever bad mouths the middle class; that's why middle class was brought up. "Mostly white" was added to describe that the middle class is a mix of people but the fact is the middle class is mostly white because the country is mostly white. I'm sorry if you're offended by me mentioning that the middle class is mostly white and if that's all you got from that post then we will have problems discussing issues no matter what points are brought up.

Well, I just went to the CUNY financial aid estimator located here: https://portal0.uapc.cuny.edu/uapc/public/fin_aid/financial_aid_estimator/FinAidEstimator.jsp

filled out the form, entering data like I am a recent HS graduate with no income. You can see the result below:

As for "food and a place to stay", pretty much everyone who attends CUNY is from NYC. So, they already have a place to stay.
