If it could happen to Alex Smith it could happen to him also. Like I said already, I don't think he is going to turn into one of the GOAT, but he is talented, and with the right CS, I think he can do a good job. Fitz has less ability than him and flourished with the supporting cast the Jets put together, why not RG3? Nothing to lose for the jets, if he can be brought in for a reasonable price.
Honestly I fear them actually signing RG3 first more than I fear Fitz walking first. I can't stand Geno and I'd still prefer him to RG3.

RG3 is injured all of the time, and is a head case when he isn't injured. I'd literally rather have Geno Smith, Bryce Petty & a late round draft pick going into camp than anything to do with RG3. Geno Smith is 11-18 as a QB, RG3 is 14-21. Some upgrade. Guy is a season ending injury waiting to happen, and a complete opposite to the kind of character Bowles seems to want. I hope they find a way to sign Fitzpaycheck back, but if they can't, at least be smart enough to leave this guy alone.
If the choice is between him and Fitz, it's Fitz every day of the week and twice on Sunday. If Fitz leaves, I mean at that point might as well give RG3 a shot.
