He had to spend the money as we were under the salary floor. You should blame Idzik for forcing the Jets to spend everything last year by spending next to nothing the previous two years.
Stop saying "we" you dont speak for me. This is your opinion and thats fine. It's a bad one, a misinformed one, but it's yours none the less
I still prefer Fitz because of the injury risk with RG3. He has not shown he can be a competent QB without running around. But Fitz would have to agree to 10 million or less. Just because Houston and Philly were overreacted doesn't mean we should. Having said that, I will be very disappointed if we can't land a QB. Geno should not be atop the depth chart.
I like fitz but he's as careless with his body as almost any qb I can remember. I don't see a big difference between the two in terms of injury risk
Despite his inability to slide, Fitz has had just one major injury in his career, the broken leg with Houston last year. While his scrambles are dumb, he doesn't do it more than a couple times a game. He also gets the ball out quickly, so he doesn't take shots like a Roethlisberger or Luck. Whereas RG3 doesn't slide, runs several times a game, and takes hard sacks. And his knees are already wrecked.
Come on 00, no one wants to see Geno on the field again. If anyone in the FO thought Geno was the guy, they wouldn't be offering Fitz or RG any deals. Certainly wouldn't be paying top dollar, on a team as strapped for cash as we are. If they thought he was any good, they would roll with him as the starter and bring in some dub to back him up. They wouldn't be offering 8+ million for Fitz. Stop being a homer.
If Petty steps up and earns the job by all means he's the starter. RG3 would need to earn his job, his role shouldn't be completely defined if he were to start.
