Fitz had a nice year. But he has never made the playoffs and has a decade of tape in the league. Everybody knows what he is, hence the lack of interest. He still had less than 60% completion, had qb rating in the middle of a the league and had a 2:1 td:Int ratio. He completely sucked vs the Bills and only beat 2 teams with winning records. When the playoffs were on the line he soiled his pants.

Rg3 has the arm talent and throws a nice deep ball. Chan would have some real talent to work with. I'd be fine with RG, geno, petty battling it out.

Buy low, sell high. Fitz is coming off his best year ever, and he's trying to cash in on it. He had a good run, but he's not getting any younger. I think its safe to say we've seen his ceiling. RG3 should be a relative bargain if he can plays even close to his potential. I honestly like both QBs, but I think I'd rather take the risk on the younger guy with higher upside if the price is right.

Where did you hear this? I can't find anything talking about how yesterday's meeting went.

I didn't say he was one of the best qbs in the league, I said he was one of the best qbs in seeing the field. Hence why we had such a low amount of sacks given up. Hence why he was able to get the ball to Marshall & Decker so consistently.

My bad. I read too quickly. I still stand by the rest. That one trait is not worth a crazy pay day imo.

No, not when he see's all that and still throws picks by the bunches.

Fitz was a refreshing change, but far from a great QB. We'll have to move on from him soon (next year maybe) anyway, why not now bring someone in who can take snaps for the next 3-4 years if things work out.

I've never been a big RG fan, but he does have talent, he could do very well with talent around him.

Yup. He had dinner last night and is meeting with the team again today. This could purely leverage vs Fitz but it's appearing they actually may be into him and could sign him.

The difference here is RG3 likely won't be anointed starter, and would have to compete vs Geno.

Not to mention his OL couldn't stop a cold... For some reason that team gave up on him and he just needs a fresh start in a system that fits his game.

You gotta think that Chan being a Texas guy saw a bunch of him at Baylor and probably loved every second.

I think this a perfect spot and we will finally have a QB that can overthrow luggs and cheater.

I have to agree. Fitz is an immensely likable guy and I think that it clouds our judgment. RGIII or dare I say Geno, have a bigger upside. With Fitz, what you see is what you get. With RGIII and Geno, you have two talented players who are boom or bust. The only problem with RGIII and Geno is that you may get the downside more than the upside.

Other than RGIII being thrown to the wolves by his former team he has been a good sport. He's a good individual and has good values.

He's a Christian kid and when stuff went south you didn't hear about him making a scene. There was a reason why the Redskins gave up what they did for him and part of that was his personality.

Been watching some RG3 on NFL GamePass, there's a ton to work with. He was nowhere near as awful as I thought he was these last couple years. He was completely sabatoged by his offensive line so it's imperative that we shore up the tackles if we bring him in, he isn't nearly as good at masking deficiencies in pass protection as Fitz is so the current OL has the potential to be a mess. He has really good touch on throws in the intermediate range and his deep ball is really accurate (maybe he can use Devin Smith). Though his mobility is diminished, he's still a great athlete and is very good at throwing on the run which is huge for our offense. The easy flick of the wrist that he throws with is fun to watch.

I'm warming up to this idea a lot. I think Chan can do some really good things to cater to him and working with Marshall, Decker and some pass catching RBs will help.

Conversely, I've also been watching some Colin Kaepernick games this morning. He sucks. I wouldn't give up a 5th for him.

Well said man. Call me crazy, but I fear for the diva-like reaction signing RG3/walking away from Fitz that would come from Marshall.

IIRC, Marshall loved Geno in the beginning. He loves everyone

Dont forget Marshall was even more in love with Geno during training camp and all that until he broke his jaw. Then he loved Fitz. I think the Forte signing has preoccupied Marshall. I cant imagine him being too upset thought regardless, it doesnt take much to get the ball in Marshalls hands.

If we sign a shitty and destructive player like Robert Griffin III, it will prove two facts. First, Geno is done as a possible starter which would make me happy. Second, the GM is a moron and we gave him too much credit and ignored the facts he way overpaid Revis and Cromartie last year, which is the reason we can't afford Fitz.
