He doesn't suck, but let's not pretend he's a franchise QB worth making a huge commitment to. I think last year was as good as it gets with Fitz. Where did that get us?
He gives us the best chance at a super bowl next season and that's all that matters. Football is a year to year sport. Not like the others where it's a 5yr rebuilding.
I'm not sure anyone here is claiming Fitz is a franchise QB but that dude got us right on the doorstep of the playoffs. He threw a bad pick but that shouldn't cancel out everything else he did. Folks like to claim he always fades down the stretch but prior to the Buff game he was the AFC Offensive player of the week twice and he made Marshall AFC OPW one other week. He was pretty damn good down the stretch, but that one pick is what stands out in peoples minds. If we have a high school level punter last year we win 11 games easy and maybe 12 and we're in the playoffs with a chance to go deep. _
Bad organizations over react to good seasons from players who historically are not good. Smart organization don't over react to the single season and instead understand that players who aren't very good can have very good seasons. I'm just amazed at how many fans want this management to behave like a bad organization.
Really? A QB who has been completely incapable of leading any team he's ever been on to the playoffs, including a team that played only one team with a winning record on its schedule and had a career year, but couldn't beat a below .500 team with the playoffs on the line, gives the Jets The best chance at a Super Bowl? That is just a completely dumbfounding assertion. Nothing about Fitz's career or even last season indicates he is capable of getting anywhere close to a Super Bowl.
Sanchez is going to Denver I just wonder if this means they are out of the running for Kaep, does Kaep now go to the Browns? Looks like the list for suitors for Fitz has dropped to us and maybe the Rams.
ask yourself this......where would we have been last year without Fitz? with Geno under center instead? I'm not suggesting a long term commitment, but i don't want to find out the above answer. The negotiations are still unfolding, take a breath.
Sanchez to Denver. This time it's confirmed, but I screwed up last time making a thread, so I'll leave it to someone else.
Long time Sanchez fan, first time poster. Great signing. You just guaranteed the first Super Bowl three peat! I couldn't be more excited for the Broncos if you had traded for Tom Brady.
Doesn't Sanchez make around $5mil? I doubt they would spend $5 mil on Sanchez and then $15 mil on Fitz.
If this means they want sanchez, then it is between us and the Browns for kap. Plz Big Mac send a second and mo for kap and a 4th
